From new trends to tips on finding the perfect wedding dress, we'll give you the latest from a handful of the world's most talented and sought-after bridal designers.

Here, our talk with Monique Lhuillier:

Monique Lhuillier's spring 2017 bridal collection

What are your best tips for brides on finding that one perfect dress?
Fit is absolutely essential. I always design with a woman's shape in mind and try to accentuate the female figure. It is important to choose a dress that accentuates a bride's assets and camouflages any challenging areas. I also think a wedding gown should have an element of fantasy. It should be ethereal, so that the bride looks like she is floating down the aisle. Finally, trust your instincts-women look best when they feel beautiful.

What excites you the most about your newest collection? What defines it?
The sheer romance of the collection. Everything is ethereal and effortless.

I envisioned a girl running through a delicate garden without a care in the world-pure bliss and madly in love. I wanted to capture that feeling.

Who is the bride you design for?
The Monique Lhuillier bride is elegant, feminine and ethereal, with a modern twist. She is looking for romance and fantasy, along with luxurious construction and attention to detail. I am always honored when a bride chooses to wear one of my gowns on her wedding day, and one of my favorite parts of being a designer is when real brides share pictures from their wedding day. It's very special to be part of such an important moment.

What is your favorite thing about Bridal Fashion Week?
I love the moment when the first model walks out on the runway. It's such a thrill to see all the months and months of hard work coming together so seamlessly. Each season I challenge myself to push the envelope further, whether it's by incorporating color or new and interesting design details. It's important to move bridal fashion forward.

What have brides been asking for that you've incorporated into your designs this season?
I've designed more dresses with low backs and plenty of intricate details.

What's new in the world of weddings/bridal business that you're excited about or really loving?
Brides are continually looking for more fashion-forward options, and I love to see how each bride celebrates her individual style. I have designed dresses with color, short dresses, two-piece looks, overskirts, etc.

After the crazy time of planning and executing, what will you do to recover? Do you have a Fashion Week secret weapon?
After Fashion Week I always try to get away for a long weekend with my family. On the day of my show, I wake up early and go for a run in Central Park, taking in the sheer beauty of NYC. It allows me to mentally prepare for the busy day ahead.

Unrelated to work, what's the number-one thing you won't forget to squeeze in during Bridal Fashion Week?
Since I'm based in LA, I always love spending time in NYC and try to make time to do something I haven't done before. I love to see a new play, try a new restaurant or visit a recently opened store while visiting the city.
