Modern Wedding at The Loft on Pine: Jennifer + Brian

via

The Loft on Pine in Long Beach, California is the perfect wedding venue for couples who want a unique backdrop that's already beautiful, but ready to be further personalized with details that represent the two of them and their one-of-a-kind style. Jennifer + Brian were one of those couples, and once they teamed up with stylist, Sweet Emilia Jane, and floral designer, Honey and Poppies, nothing could stop them from bringing to life a beautiful celebration complete with a modern, glamorous vibe and lots of meaningful moments.

Jennifer explains, Brian and I wanted our wedding to be warm and fun...an experience. So we made sure to invest in the things that our guests would appreciate the most like the food, drinks and the cake. Brian and I spent a good deal of time discussing two things, our ceremony and venue. These were the two components of our day that spoke the most to us a couple. We knew we wanted a traditional Protestant ceremony in a non traditional space and to be married by someone who was significant to us. We were married in a space with soul and style by a life long friend of my family. It was quiet, simple, and lovely.

Thanks so much to The de Jaureguis for the lovely photos below!

J wore a classically beautiful Monique Lhuillier dress, paired with dewey makeup and a modern topknot by Fiore Beauty.

Waiting at the top of the stairs, holding my Mom's hand before the professional began, I heard "Holocene" by Bon Iver playing. Brain and I have claimed this as OUR song. So much emotion welled up inside of me and I remember squeezing my Mom's hand so tightly in anticipation of walking down the aisle to finally marry "my forever person".

Processional: Wedding Party: I Found You - Luluc; Bride: It Never Entered My Mind - Mikes Davis

Recessional: Cosmic Love - Florence & The Machine

First Dance: Lovely Tonight - Joshua Radin

The florals + floral wreaths Honey and Poppies crafted for the occasion are pretty jaw-dropping, right?! Loving all the textures + hues! Town & Country Rentals, Borrowed Blu, La Tavola Linens, and Found Vintage Rentals had the perfect rental pieces to style a reception look that was at once romantic, glamorous, modern + elegant!

How pretty is this modern, white 4-tier cake by Sweet and Saucy?

Give yourself time. We had over a year to plan our wedding and while things came together quicker than expected, it was nice to not feel rushed and actually enjoy the planning process. Another plus to having a longer engagement was that it allowed us to bring together all of the lovely and talented vendors on the date of our choice. Communicate and prioritize. In order to make the planning process about us, Brian and I talked about what was important to one another. For Brian maintaining a sense of tradition was most important followed my good food and free flowing libations. For me the most important thing was our photography. We hired The de Jaureguis before we even booked our venue (they were that important). The planning process is emotional so knowing what mattered to one another helped us make decisions more efficiently.
