We're so excited to share this beautiful wedding with you today, in conjunction with our longtime friends at Maharani Weddings! Gabrielle & Samir tied the knot in a modern celebration that combined the best of both Indian and Italian cultures, that should inspire all brides-to-be. Choosing The Bowery as their venue for both ceremony and reception gave them a great canvas, and the chance to balance a baraat (the traditional Indian groom procession) with the restaurant's modern Italian classics. Just wait until you see the fireplace where they said their vows - glittering with candlelight, it is dripping in wild florals that look like they're growing right out of the walls!

The Ceremony

Your ceremony in three words. Personal, inclusive, intimate.

Says bride Gabrielle, "we felt surrounded by family and friends who were really happy for us, in a beautiful, intimate setting with lots of flowers and candles."

What was your ceremony music? A jazz quartet played Such Great Heights (processional) and Coldplay's Sky Full of Stars (recessional). During the ceremony, the groom's cousin sang Adele's version of Make You Feel My Love.

How did you go about planning your ceremony? Our pastor who married us helped. He is a family friend, and wanted to make both families feel included and involved, so his warm and inviting presence was perfect.

What were your vows like? We wrote our own. They were brief, heartfelt, personal, and authentic, but not too serious. Saying them was our favorite part of the ceremony.

The Reception

Why did you choose this location for your ceremony? The event space is unique and beautiful, and the food is some of the best you'll ever have at a wedding.

What was your wedding menu? We served samosas as appetizers as soon as guests sat down. We then offered salads, family style (caprese plus fresh greens), then appetizers were a choice of eggplant parm, veal saltimboca, or mushroom ravioli with truffle cream sauce for entree.

How would you describe your reception? Intimate dinner party with funny speeches that segued into a vibrant fun dance party.

What type of cake or dessert did you serve? Our wedding cake was traditional yellow cake with Nutella and coconut filling. We also served assorted petite desserts, and ras malai (an Indian dessert).

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding? We wanted an intimate, romantic, warm environment for celebrating with family and friends.
