Chris and Ashleigh first met in high school where they quickly became friends. "Two years after graduation we ran into each other at a social gathering for a mutual friend and started getting to know one another; that is when romance bloomed," Ashleigh says.

When it came time to choose a wedding theme, the couple selected a romantic, autumnal motif. "We love the season and the colours associated with it: Marsala, gold, green and ivory. For the reception we chose green garlands and gold decor for the main tables, and gorgeous floral centrepieces for the guest tables," Ashleigh says. "With the help of our wedding planners we carried the theme throughout the evening by incorporating Bosc pears, gold-framed photos and lots of candles." One of the bride's favourite details of the day was the large marriage certificate they had their guests sign instead of a guestbook. "It included the words from the ceremony and we now have it framed in our house to show who was with us as we exchanged vows and pledged our lives to each other," she says.

As dusk fell, dinner and speeches began, and the cozy feeling of the fall season made the room take on a warm and romantic feel. "It was absolutely perfect," Ashleigh says.
