A Boho, Free-Spirited California Camping Wedding

A Boho, Free-Spirited California Camping Wedding

via

Shannon + Sean, wanted their wedding day to be casual + cool, much like their personalities. Taking things outdoors, the couple sought out a non-traditional venue that allowed guests to camp on-site - a nd that's exactly what they found at the eclectic Wolf Feather Honey Farm in Temecula, California! Shannon works at a wedding dress boutique, so she's super savvy on all styles of dresses + cool brands. The moment she saw the falling fringe + gorgeous crochet on the Rue de Seine 'Blossom' gown - she knew that it was the one. In fact, the whole wedding day was actually inspired by her dress!

Shannon shares Since I work in a wedding dress boutique, I'm constantly surrounded by beautiful dresses... And in my head, I create all these different types of weddings based on each dress - yet nothing felt like "us". Then finally, I had a moment when I tried on the Rue De Seine gown! I found the perfect dress that reflected the uniqueness of our relationship. As a couple, Sean and I are very eclectic, and easy going. We could not imagine a fussy wedding with guidelines or a specific timeframe. We just wanted to share a day of great love with our family and friends.

And, super fun fact - Shannon met their photographer Pretty cool when the stars align like that, right? Evangeline Lane (who's
wedding we shared a few months back), when Evangeline was shopping for her own wedding dress at the boutique!

Now let's see all the goodies from this camping-inspired wedding!

Such an adorable invitation by The Cozy Gnome. It definitely captures the feel of the wedding.

We love her choice of daisies - as if she just picked her posies straight from the field.

THE DRESS + ALL THAT FRINGE!!

Are these the coolest details, or what?

Processional: Mushaboom by Feist

Recessional: Roses by The Chainsmokers

First Dance: That Girl by Justin Timberlake

How darling is Shannon + Sean's son, Arrow?

We will gladly take that setup in our living room, ASAP.

That king's table that seats up to 150 guests is to-die-for.

The greatest memory for the both of us, was the surprise and excitement of the venue. We knew that we were pushing the envelope getting married at Wolf Feather Honey Farm. It is unlike any wedding venue we had ever seen. Once our guests were surrounded by the beautiful view of the rolling hills + the pistachio grove dripping with lights, it was all worth it. We loved that we were all immersed in nature and could enjoy each other's company while roasting marshmallows + making s'mores.

Miho Catering provided delicious bites + they had a donut bar by Donut Star for dessert!!

It is so easy to get lost and caught up in the wedding planning process. And the wedding industry has forced so many "requirements" on couples which may not be necessary for every couples wedding. My advice to everyone is The Dress Theory's motto, 'Be yourself no matter what they say!' Make sure that you focus on what is important to you - whether it be your dress, music, food, or photography. Your wedding should reflect the two of you as a couple, and if you stick to that everyone will have a great time!
