A Colorful Marfa Texas Wedding

A Colorful Marfa Texas Wedding

via

Betsy + John first discovered Marfa, Texas on a cross-country road trip - they stayed in a teepee at hotel El Cosmico, saw the mysterious Marfa Lights and immediately fell in love with the art, people, and wide open sky. Aiming to keep their wedding fun + casual, they sought out the perfect backdrop that would bring images from Terrence Malick's films to mind. Ultimately, they found their ideal ceremony spot in a field; so they mowed a path, set up a champagne trailer, brought in bleachers and rolled out a colorful welcome mat for the guests arriving via school bus!

The reception was held next door at the agricultural center - making use of the dirt floor and all. Magic Hour Marfa worked with their designer, Outfit Home, and local vendors to bring the couple's vibrant vision to life. Colorful picado banners and string lights hung from the the rafters above the custom built tables, which were dotted with local gemstones, succulents and hand printed runners. Adding to the fun, they had a piñata, authentic Mexican food from Chef Krista Steinhauer + beautiful live music from the all-female band, Mariachi Las Coronelas.
