Moody Autumn Wedding Inspiration with a Black Wedding Dress

Moody Autumn Wedding Inspiration with a Black Wedding Dress

via

We may still be feeling summery temperatures at our home-base in California, but this styled shoot is making us want to throw on a pair of boots, red lipstick and a cozy sweater! Inspired by the colors of autumn and wanting to stray away from popular palettes of neutrals + pastels, the team behind this moody editorial focused on dark + rich hues: sun-baked brick, onyx black, cranberry and tarnished gold. Planner Tiffany Pritchett of Hart & Co Events found Loray Mill - an old textile mill just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina - and knew she had to highlight it. The building was recently renovated into a mixed residential/event space and it features exposed brick walls, and tons of natural light through giant windows. Tiffany shares I've wanted to work with Oregon based designer Elizabeth Dye for so long and I knew her 'Furiosa' would be the perfect gown to build this shoot around. (Who says you have to get married in a white dress, right?) We carried the black over into the tabletop design, with the matte plates and slate linen napkins. I immediately asked Sarah Pascutti if she'd like to photograph the styled shoot, and before I even finished explaining the concept - she said yes!

Enter in the real married couple: Jess + Trevor. They ride motorcycles, make their own clothes, and live life by their own set of rules; not allowing trends to transform them, but instead, boldly making their own path. Their unbelievable chemistry (they are married, after all) and charm made them the perfect models to add a bit of edge + another level of cool to this shoot.

Ready to be inspired? Let's look!!

This elegant invitation suite was handcrafted by Jasmin Black Ortega of Estudio Rojo.

Both of the stunning rings are from Trumpet & Horn.

Oh, how we ADORE tulle skirts...

Such a gorgeous, cozy + modern setup! Ribbons by Adorn provided all the pretty décor items.

Simply STUNNING.

Lindsay Pizzuti of Mirror Bomb Studio crafted a refined updo, while Layne Barter Makeup created a sultry + smoldering makeup look.

Those ghost chairs from Party Reflections make us jump for joy! And this whole tablescape is so chic.

The swath of charcoal fabric from Silk & Willow made the perfect table runner.

Love. Love. Love.

Modern meets old world charm.

The amazing floral centerpiece by Amy Lynne Originals softens the overall look without taking away from the moodier vibe of the tablescape.

The groom looked extremely handsome in his suit + bowtie from NY Bride and Groom of Charlotte.

The icing on the cake, quite literally, was Suarez Bakery 's matte black two-tiered cake.

Was that stunning or what?! A HUGE thank you to the dream team behind this shoot!
