Bewitching Woodland Bridal Inspiration - Polka Dot Bride

With soft sunlight filtering through the trees onto the ethereal silhouette of an enchanting figure in an other-worldly, ivory gown, one would be forgiven for thinking they had transcended into an entirely different realm. The superb talent of Cassie Sullivan from Photography with Cassie, makeup artist Kate Beinke and model Andrea Rose created the concept for this simple yet striking shoot. The idea was to put together a soft, natural inspiration shoot, and to create an idea of a feminine bride running care free through the forest. The result is this bewitching woodland bridal inspiration shoot, and to say we are thoroughly entranced by it is an understatement.

The shoot came about with the idea of featuring the gorgeous make up work of the incredibly talented, up and coming makeup artist, Kate Beinke. Cassie explains, "We wanted a beautiful, soft, feminine mood to suit the stunning vintage dress that the model, Andrea, owns. Andrea found the floor length, empire waist gown with high neckline dress in an Alaskan Salvation Army store for $12, and she made her own creative flower head piece for the shoot.

Both Andrea, who is originally from Alaska, and Cassie, who is from Tasmania, have an affinity with the forest, so the trio went looking for beautiful winter light, and bare bone trees and pine needles to surround them. They found the perfect spot - a quiet, captivating pine forest outside of Canberra, and they caught the last rays of the winter sun on a May afternoon. The three confess that there may have been a little whisky consumed to keep them warm during the shoot, and to help the creative process!
