Elegant Chateau Wedding in South West France - French Wedding Style

It may be Friday and before we celebrate it being the weekend, we have an elegant Chateau wedding in South West of France, planned and photographed by FWS Vendors Awardweddings.

Lumi and Michael, a lovely Anglo-Romanian couple living in London, decided to celebrate their union with a close group of family and friends in an intimate wedding in South West France. They chose the area for the weather, great food and amazing scenery.

They contacted Clementine from Awardweddings to help them plan their wedding. Being a bilingual professional based on the ground was going to be really helpful in organizing the whole day.

Lumi and Michael takes us through their big day: "The planning was made easy by Clementine and her team, all we had to do was choose what we wanted. You can tell that each wedding is special to Clementine and she really loves her job with passion. Attention to detail and local knowledge helped deliver the best day of our lives, we are still buzzing about it now, 6 weeks later."

The couple wanted an elegant and rustic feel for their day and chose the beautiful Chateau de Puyssentut in Gers - Midi-Pyrenees region. The chateau was recently renovated by their English owners to a high standard. The chateau was able to accommodate all their guests.

The groom wore a tailored suit made suit from Dress2kill, whilst the bride chose a graceful dress from Phase Eight. Even after trying dresses from wedding boutiques, the first dress she tried on just fitted her like a glove. Lumi's hair and make-up was done by Sarah Fekir, a wonderful artist based in Toulouse.

Following an English speaking Catholic ceremony in the local church, the party returned to the venue for the rest of the day. The cocktail reception was animated by Abarrejadis, a trio jazz band and Lisa Crossley's ice-cream van.

In order to keep costs down, the couple opted for a hog roast and salads from Auberge La Baquere, a delicious local caterer. The traditional French wedding cake, piece montee, illuminated desert!

Decorations of the day were elegant. The venue is so beautiful in itself that there wasn't a need to add much more. Wooden tables, delicate flowers from talented florist Camomille Flowers, and candles embellished the dinner.

A very romantic and magical moment of the day was the first dance, illuminated by tens of sparklers.

The couple was so delighted with their day, it was just exactly how they imagined it. What a reward for wedding suppliers!

The groom shared "Mark was amazing and was with us the full day. He wasn't intrusive at all and delivered the style of photo we wanted. I'm not a natural in front of the camera but he gave good advise and guidance so I was able to relax and just enjoy it. Great guy and the photos look amazing, he captured the day beautifully."
