Pia and Georg said I do on the 16th July 2016 at Can Valldaura, a quaint and oh so very pretty wedding venue setwithin the beautiful hills of Barcelona. If you have been thinking about a destination wedding then you are going to fall in love with this wedding. Can Valldaura is just so beautiful with its stunning views of the hills, its pretty ceremony area under an olive tree and its beautiful interiors which are just screaming to be explored for your couples shots (as you are about to see). It has a lovely veranda which you can use for your wedding breakfast and a quirky house with accommodation for up to 25 people. Honestly, I have fallen in love with this venue enough to seriously consider renewing my vows (is 4 years too soon!?)

Pia and Georg wanted their wedding to be about them and all of the people they love. With a festival 'Lovefest' theme, their main aim was to create a relaxed atmosphere where their guests could be happy and enjoy the day....

We wanted to have a big day full of love, joy and dancing. With the invitations we put the whole wedding under the topic "Lovefest". We just wanted everyone to be happy and feel free to enjoy the days with us however they want. We wanted the wedding to feel like a small festival with all our friends. Somehow hippie-style and urban-styled but most important: it should reflect us as a couple.

I could go on and on about how beautiful this wedding is but I am going to let the pictures do the talking. Just be ready to fall in love with so many things - the venue, Pia's bespoke wedding dress, the hippy bohemian decor, the food - everything!

What a treat for your Monday afternoon this wedding is going to be....

We had a very quick pretty clear idea of how we wanted the wedding to look like. Anna of Ambrosia Wedding, our Wedding Planner, totally nailed it and did a great job by totally realising it as we imagined. Besides that our friends also helped so much and put so much effort into this day. One of the bridesmaids and a very close friend of the couple created a photo isle that told our story and decorated the brick wall that leaded to the ceremony place with it. These two also made all the lace tamborins that lay on the dinner tables. The bridesmaids and the maid of honor created the guest gifts. Georg and me crafted and painted the maracas for the ceremony that we placed on each chair as a gift from the wedding couple.

We liked the idea of getting married in the hills. But also wanted to be more safe with warm weather. As Pia had been to Barcelona a lot because her best friend (the speaker at the ceremony) used to live there, we loved the idea quickly. And with Can Valldaura we found a stunning location with an unbelievable view. We had it all: Friday a leisure Get-Together in the beautiful center of Barcelona, Saturday the hills and surrounded by trees and on Sunday a chillout day at the beach with all our guests.

Our caterer was L'Emporda. We had welcome snacks like Parmesan sticks and some local Barcelona Tapas as appetizers after the ceremony. We wanted the dinner to be relaxed but talkative and lively as well. So we had some Food stations with cheese, salads, beef, little dessert cups etc. Plus a big pan with fideuá, which is the catalanian paella. As a midnight snack we had hotdogs and french fries.

The whole day was the favourite moment. We soaked up every second until we both could not stop smiling. The surprises from our friends and family kept coming and one strong positive emotion was followed by another.

Getting married is just wonderful! Just enjoy every second it will be over way too soon. Don't stress yourself over minor details. If you can, get a wedding planner that fits your expectations. It is worth the money because you can really enjoy the time. Also do not do or plan anything only because you think some things are a MUST HAVE on a wedding. It is your day plan it the way you like it so you enyoj every bit. And when the couple is happy the guests wil be as well!
