Glitter Hair and Makeup Wedding Inspiration Shoot

Glitter Hair and Makeup Wedding Inspiration Shoot

via

Ladies get ready to get your sparkle on with some of our wedding supplier faves on the blog this morning! Photographer Lucy Davenport along with Jo from Lovehair and MUA Louise Seymour have put together a glitter inspired hair and makeup editorial which is all about incorporating wearable glitter into your bridal look. We are talking subtle sparkle here rather than a full on glitter fest with a touch of twinkle on your eyes, nails, hair, dress and headpiece to enhance, not over power, your overall bridal look.

I don't know about you but we are LOVING the glitter wedding trend. We are seeing it being used more and more on the festival wedding scene and there is just so much fun to be had! From bold sparkles in your hair to sexy tattoos with just a hint of glitz - glitter is on the up ladies and we are looking forward to seeing more of you sassy brides incorporating it into your day.

Look out for the amazing earthy floral mohican put together by florist Juliet Glaves and Lovehair. If there was a headpiece to define festival woodland fairy then this is it! This shoot also includes some gorgeous bohemian wedding hair inspiration as well.

Wearable Glitter and Floral Headpieces....

Words By Lucy Davenport

This shoot was inspired by glitter - we wanted to mix an editorial look with a wearable wedding look and created varying results.

Working with key pieces from several designers, we echod the wearable looks through make up and the addition of the new age floral headpieces.

I chose to use plain backgrounds for this shoot to ensure that the glitter had minimal distractions. The white and ice blue gave colder colours to make the florals really pop!

An Organic Process and a Floral Mohican....

Words by Louise Seymour

I wanted to keep the foundation fresh and let the glitter do all the talking. I used different sizes of glitter to give the texture that would compliment the hair and the head garland.

Words by Jo of Lovehair

I love working with Lou and Lucy, because although we always have a plan and plenty of moodboards, we stay flexible and the looks tend to evolve as the day goes on. It's quite an organic process.

Here the dress, the florals and the glitter make up were the focus, so the hair just needed to compliment that. I stuck to styles that had a strong shape but minimal detail so there wasn't too much going on, although there was always going to be a plait somewhere!

Working with florist Juliet Glaves to create the floral mohican was absolute heaven. She had created the actual head piece before she arrived, so when it came to hair we worked together to come up with a style that would incorporate the design and enhance the look. We then added foliage and moved hair to blend the 2 'materials' SO MUCH FUN!
