Mackenzie had always told her father that none of the guys she dated gave her butterflies, that is, until Craig came along. So appropriately themed, he proposed in the butterfly garden at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, and their epic 400-guest wedding was filled to the brim with butterfly details. Grey Collective member and planner extraordinaire JPC Event Group gathered an incredible vendor team to turn Carrie Furnace, an old steel mill, into a visually stunning juxtaposition of glamour and grit. They brought in EVERY SINGLE DETAIL, from the chandeliers to the topiary walls. The result is spectacular and Eva Lin Photography captures it beautifully.

From JPC Events: Mackenzie and Craig's wedding was filled with butterfly stamps on the invitations, a bridal party of their nieces and nephews holding balloons with butterfly cutouts, butterfly flower crowns, and of course, Mackenzie's stunning wing-tipped Sophia Webster shoes. Mackenzie's sister-in-law also surprised her with LIVE butterflies while they were getting ready, making a wish with each one as they fluttered away!

So many amazing details and custom made goods went into the framework of this wedding supporting local professionals from both the couple's home in New York, as well as their heritage in Pittsburgh. From metal invitations to hand cut wooden name "placecards" for each guest, graffiti backdrop to hand crafted boxwood hedges and industrial pipe floral stands. And no opportunity to add a unique touch was missed-from the Jackson Pollock inspired engagement photos gracing the restroom trailer entrances, to the 2000 candles flickering around the perimeter of the interior steel beams. The bridal day fashion was also on point and beyond. Designer Christian Siriano of Project Runway fame customized a pearl emblazoned work of art for Mackenzie complete with a removable tulle high low skirt, and the drool-worthy Sophia Webster butterfly stilettos completed her ethereal look to perfection.

Mackenzie carried a non-traditional bridal vine of magnolia leaves (to echo the "rusty" feel of the blast furnace) graced by white peonies, bi-color parrot tulips, white garden roses, white astilbe and white freesia in place of a traditional bouquet.

With an industrial woodland décor palette, the Garnish team incorporated all things that flutter and glisten-sparkly linens, butterflies, industrial pipes, copious candlelight, moss, and mirrors everywhere throughout the interior reception and ceremony spaces. Elegant chandeliers, and trendy event lighting engineered by Luxe Creative, swathed the event space with a colorful, party vibe.
