Lorelle was in Grade 12 and on a cross-country recruiting trip at Western when she met first-year student Scott. The two began talking over MSN all summer, and then started dating when Lorelle started school at Western. "Let's just say that after meeting Scott, enrolling there was an easy choice," says Lorelle.

The couple wanted their wedding venue to lead their decor vision. "We wanted a modern but rustic venue that didn't require much decoration," Lorelle explains. "Steam Whistle's high ceilings, big windows, exposed brick and wooden beams were perfect."

Candles, greenery and gold details were used to perfectly complement the space. "Scott was adamant our colour be 'wood' to match the venue," Lorelle laughs. "So we included white pillar candles on a live edge wooden charger."

Ultimately the couple wanted a personal ceremony, a good meal and great music to dance to. One of Lorelle's favourite moments of the day was walking down the aisle with her dad. "Seeing Scott standing in front of me and all of my friends and family on either side was pretty surreal. There's really nothing else like it!"
