"We made plans to pick out our #ChristmasTree at a local farm, and have my best friend Lauren come along to take photos of us for our Christmas cards. Lauren and I both wedding photographers, so her boyfriend came too and I was planning on taking photos of them as well. So, the four of us and my 2 year old son River got dressed up and headed to the tree farm. We were surrounded by the most gorgeous and lush Christmas trees I've ever seen, and Portland weather somehow allowed us an hour of rain-free and cloud-covered sky for perfect photos. Lane was acting very nervous and sighing heavily, but I brushed it off as normal camera-shyness. Eventually, my toddler grew impatient and wanted to run around. Just as I said "should we wrap it up and head home," I felt Lane start to get down on one knee. He said the most beautiful words I've ever heard, and asked me to marry him!
