I’ve often thought about putting a slightly sarcastic but also totally honest check list of “wedding day rules” on my website for my brides. Things like - -if you want your hair to turn out good, don’t make me get up before 8 am. . -if I’m there all day, please feed me treats. . -make sure it’s not 1 billion degrees inside. . -tell your mom she must remain at least 6 feet away while I work. . -make sure we’re not in your basement bathroom that’s 2 sq ft and has one tiny yellow light. . -don’t read the letters and open the gifts from your mom and best friend while I’m doing your makeup. A floodgate of tears will be opened, and it will be detrimental. . -tell your dad not to walk around the house naked . -and finally, please don’t be drunk already by the time I get there. .
