Diversity & representation in weddings is pretty average.⁠ ⁠ In fact, we'd go so far to say it's almost invisible. This is something our Polka Dot Bride submissions team has really been focusing on. We're not content with the excuse of "we can only publish what is submitted to us", because we believe in taking action for what we put out there and fixing the problem. We spend hours looking through Instagram feeds, searching blogs and going down rabbit holes. We hold ourselves accountable with goals and targets, making sure we include and represent as many different kinds of weddings we can. We're not perfect, and we fail plenty, but this is important, so we're learning and challenging the issue. This isn't about token inclusion either, it's about featuring weddings that touch our hearts and have stories to tell, but also reflect our readership and, well, feel good weddings. So this is our call out to you. We want your weddings of diverse couples. Not just those of LGBTQ couples, but of older couples (like these two stunners), of couples who have a disability (whether it’s visible or invisible), are of different racial backgrounds, who are different shapes and sizes, or have different cultural elements to their day.
