One of the most common questions we get asked is how I have come up with so many different script styles. Over the years, wedding calligraphy clients will send us a proof of their wedding invitation and ask us if we can “match” the computer font used with one of my hand calligraphy scripts for the mailing addresses. Typically this means I receive an invitation that has the names of the couple and venue in a script font with the majority of the wording in a different, non-script font. So I need to take the handful of capital letters on that card and develop a full alphabet script that “goes” with the invitation, keeping in mind that the guests don’t have the full alphabet either. - In our most recent calligraphy tutorial on Patreon {link in my profile}, I’m walking you step by step through my process, what I look for and how I pull together 26 new letters with very little to go on. This video is a good one. I loved making it and hope you find a lot of benefit watching it. We even include a PDF download of basic letter groupings to help you in your own alphabet developments. - If you aren’t already an LHC Patron, this video is a great reason to become one, and we hope you’ll check it out! We share 2-3 new videos there every month, and your support there allows us to continue to create high quality video instruction on an ongoing basis as well as behind-the-scenes/tips/advice here on IG regularly. So THANK YOU to those supporting us on Patreon!! Linked via my profile. #lhcvideos
