Christina - Hair Romance

Let’s talk perspective...⠀ ⠀ This swing photo was taken on my iPhone but at 0.5 scale so it warps my body. I’ve colour edited this image to brighten the shadows but the camera did the work to edit my body. I look thinner and taller than I really am. ⠀ ⠀ I’m 169cm tall and size 12-14 Australian & my weight fluctuates a lot, thanks to my thyroid and my hormones. Later we’ll talk about how that affects my hair too. ⠀ ⠀ And although we got here before the crowds, I still had to wait my turn to take this pic on the swing.⠀ ⠀ But the beaches in Thailand really are this beautiful. ⠀ ⠀ Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that even when someone says “no filter” it doesn’t mean that it’s real life. The camera warps, posing changes everything, there’s stuff out of frame and it’s only a moment from a day. ⠀ ⠀ I’ve struggled comparing myself online so I wanted to share a moment beyond this frame: me on the beach in my happy place. Completely imperfect with frizzy hair and unposed as @mrandmrsromance snapped me as I came back from my swim. ⠀ ⠀ Before I would have looked at my body and seen the ‘faults’, but now I see my happy smile. ⠀ ⠀ Talk to yourself and your body as you would your best friend.
