Winter Romance.

Winter Romance.

Despite the glimmer of Spring we've seen over the last few weeks, it would seem that Winter isn't quite ready to disappear just yet...

We've got a gorgeous inspiration shoot this afternoon that will actually make you sad that Winter is on it's way out. Seriously - I'm a sun worshipper through and through, but the thought of a crackling log fire always makes me hanker after the colder half of the year.

I'm particularly loving the strong make up looks created by Jodie Hazlewood and now have a very strong urge to reach for the glitter, put on my best frock and sit in a large window looking out over my grounds...

Obviously with a sparkly headpiece from DC Bouquets in my hair.

So let's light some candles, get snuggled up in front of the fire and make the most of the final throws of Winter.

As Midlands suppliers, we'd worked together individually before on real weddings, but not collectively, so we got together to at one of my favourite venues, Iscoyd Park, for a styled shoot.

We wanted it to reflect how glamorous Winter weddings can be and Iscoyd Park provided the perfect backdrop for this. It really is as beautiful inside as it is outside in the grounds, think pale walls, crackling open fires and beautiful beaded chandeliers.

We added textures for cosiness - lace, faux fur and textured throws/blankets in the window seat and lots of pillar candles to create the warm indoors feel. Gold highlights and blush accents were picked up in the cutlery, soft pastel ribbons hanging from the chandelier and pink champagne, to give a touch of glamour.
I made lace balloons that I'd seen on Pinterest. (Talk about a labour of love, but very pretty, cheap to make and they looked really effective!)

We wanted the dresses we used to have the style aware bride in mind, so it had to be the Charlie Brear collection. The collection is inspired by a love of the most revolutionary decades of style. Made in luxurious fabrics such as delicately beaded and appliqued lace and hand washed silk, brides can create uniquely styled looks with a collection of under and over skirts, dresses, tailored jackets, sleeves belts and silk sashes, they give Brides the option to add a different look for the evening, so we used some exciting key pieces.

We started off with a softer romantic look using Juliet cap veils, natural make up and flower crowns and then moved onto a more edgy look with glitter eyes. We used some amazing pieces, including a gorgeous soft white leather jacket and ruffled skirt along with accessories from Debbie Carlisle.
