Stylish Striped Virginia Wedding

Stylish Striped Virginia Wedding

Jane and Hyung Woo had a small and intimate wedding that reflected their loves and likes. Hendry House was the perfect venue as it gave a beautiful outdoor ceremony space and a perfect size home, not too small, not too big.

The day was a lovely combination of 20s flare, simplicity, chic decor, and elegance. Black and white stripes pulled everything together with pops of gold and blush. See more from this stylish striped Virginia wedding in the full gallery here, captured by Taeck Jang Photography.

Add 20′s flare to your day

I had black and white stripes run through my bouquet to my husband's tie and boutonniere. Black and white striped table runners gave my wedding reception the punch I needed and then I played with the colors around it. I needed something soft and something that would give it a little sparkle, and that is where the gold and blush/pinks came into play: gold tableware and blush florals. 20s flare was added in the decor from the invitations, to the program fans, to the cards suitcase, and the DIY wedding lawn sign. 20s inspiration continued in my own dress and hair. I even encouraged all my guests to add in some 20s flare which I absolutely loved! Then, there was the dessert bar! Not only were they all delicious, they displayed beautifully in the home on the wall shelving, almost like art! Overall, I absolutely loved my wedding and would not change a thing!

Advice from the Bride:

Every bride has some things that they might go back and change if they could. I personally would have chosen to have more time for wedding day prep and the wedding day itself. The mistake I made was I only took off of work 1 day before the wedding, when in reality I probably should have taken 2 or more! Every wedding seems to have some sort of last minute scramble and you definitely want to have a few days to account for that. For my wedding, our scramble was making sure we packed up for our honeymoon on top of all the decor and wardrobe for the wedding. We were flying out the day after our wedding and we were not coming back home since it was more convenient to stay near the venue. I felt pretty overwhelmed doing the last minute stuff 1 day before! Every bride should definitely relax the day before! Also, on the wedding day itself, I would tell all future brides to take your time and enjoy it! The day goes by extremely quickly and before you know it, it is over! Take your time to enjoy your food and drinks!
