Surprise Outdoor Movie Night Double Engagement Party - Whimsical...

Something a little different for you this fine Saturday.

Hands up, who had an engagement party? G and I did, but wow did I wish I saw this set of images before hand.

A celebration for a double wedding and the concept? An outdoor movie night. YES. Fun printed balloons, picnics, blankets and popcorn. So much fun. Such great inspiration for any parties or events you are planning.

Thanks so much to Tyler Ranalla for sharing these images, here is what The Idea Emporium had to say about the evening;

"It's not very often a Double Wedding comes along (yes, that's right 2 brides and 2 grooms), so when it does, a grand celebration is in order. When a friend of the couples approached The Idea Emporium (for design and production) and CES Weddings and Events (for planning and coordination) asking for an epic outdoor movie night we went wild!
Oversized balloons printed with words like "showtime" and weighted down with plaid tassels greeted the guests. As the sun began to set, they were asked to grab a picnic basket for two (filled with delicious meals from Bacio Catering) and select their seat for the show.
Sprawled out across the lawn were custom "prop-up" picnic blankets piled high with pillows, which laid flat for dinner (giving guests a solid surface for their wine) and then lifted up as a backrest for the movie to come. And to top it off, throw blankets acted as party favors for guests to snuggle up with and then take home, each customized to coordinate with the invitation, signage and event logo.
A movie trailer slideshow of the engaged pairs growing up, was screened prior to the main feature "Barefoot in the Park". In the intermission between the trailer and feature, guests availed themselves of popcorn, candy, and s'mores (all served in custom personalized containers). The event logo was also applied to coffee cups and cocktail napkins, bringing the graphic design full circle from the invitations.
This celebration was an absolute blast to dream up and create for not one, but two couples in love."
