This afternoon I’m delighted to introduce you to the lovely Karen from Karenanna Cakes who’s stepping into the shoes of our regular b.team cake expert for a little maternity cover {yes, we like to do things properly here at b.loved!} So while Emily’s off enjoying her new arrival, let’s find out a little more about Karen & the delicious treats she’s created to compliment the theme of our Autumn Issue.

Hi b.loved readers, Karen here! My maiden name is Baker, yes Baker! I’m now a Dickson with two little Dickson’s to boot, one dude and one chick. My family are obviously the most important part of my life, but cake does come a close second and is always in my thoughts! Karenanna is a bespoke cake company, creating beautiful cakes for all occasions which are visually stunning and utterly delicious. I absolutely love my job and working with the bride to create her ultimate vision for her wedding. I have a design style that’s clean and pretty with a nod to the vintage.  When I think of Autumnal dessert tables, I see warm colours of orange and bronze and a complementary taste pallet of warm spices and feel good treats.

Vanilla and Cinnamon cake pops

These cake pops are delicious vanilla cake with cinnamon buttercream, dipped in creamy white chocolate. Decorated with a mix of rustic bronze leaves and vintage frill flowers and tied with a black voile ribbon bow, together they make a very pretty contemporary display and are definitely party friendly.

Salted Caramel Popcorn // Spiced Carrot and Orange Mini Cakes

Of all the treats you might find on a dessert table, popcorn is certainly the one for sharing! It evokes classic images of snuggling up and enjoying together. To complement the theme, the popcorn is flavoured in salted caramel. Little paper bags provide the guests with a fun element to enjoy the popcorn during the reception.

These rustic spiced carrot and orange mini-cakes hit the spot when it comes to both Autumnal style and flavour. Presented with a ‘freshly baked’ look and vintage mini doilies, they’re pretty and very inviting. A good size also means you could go back for more!
