This afternoon is dedicated to the venue search. Wedding planning quite often begins with the location, and it is such an important element of your wedding day. So of course you will want to find the venue which makes your heart sing whilst checking off the must haves on your wish list.

Hello all you gorgeous WWW readers (*waves*)!

My name is Emma and I am the founder of Coco Wedding Venues - a style focused Wedding Venues Directory.

I live in Brighton, I have a puppy called Gatsby, I love a perfect flat white around 11am, I have an urge to wear a feather headdress most days... and on a hot Summers day last August I married the most delicious man.

My day is surrounded by prettiness... Pretty venues, pretty weddings, pretty photographs, pretty design, pretty everything!

I love anything to with design, style and creativity so for me being in this industry is just fabulous.

I also love it when gorgeous Brides-to-be drop me an email asking for help searching for their perfect wedding venue. It's a privilege to be involved in those first steps of a couples wedding-planning journey.

Ummm... I don't like sitting at my desk too much. My bum is getting too big. *ahem*.

It started with planning my own wedding - The boy and I fell at the first hurdle - the wedding venue search.

Our natural first step was to search the internet, but the wedding venue websites we came across didn't excite and inspire us. The functionality of these search tools also frustrated me, I thought the process should be fun and inspiring!

I wanted to merge the functionality of a venue search tool with the stylish wedding inspiration found on beautiful wedding blogs.

So Coco Wedding Venues was founded...

Before Coco I was a Business Manager for various fashion brands in London. My day involved running around looking after people, targets and projects!

So I have an eye for style and a head for business...

My personal mission is to provide Brides and Grooms-to-be with pretty and unique wedding venues via a stylish and simple-to-use directory that will inspire...

You can search for your wedding venue using six simple style categories - Bohemian Beats, Rustic Romance, Modern Vintage, Classic Elegance, City Chic and Coastal Cool.

Peruse these style categories to find inspiration, or simply use the region and venue type filters to get to the nitty gritty...

Coco Wedding Venues also has a Blog where we will share style inspiration, news and events and, of course, our beautiful collection of venues.

When designing the initial idea behind Coco Wedding Venues I wanted to think about who our visitors would be... Current, design-inspired, creative, stylish, unique and cool, so it is important to me that the look and feel of our venue search tool embodies these elements and feels different from the moment you land on the homepage.

I wanted Coco to be very visual and to showcase the venues through gorgeous galleries of images showing real-weddings that reflect the current trends and various styles.

Photography plays a huge part in this and we are so lucky to have some fabulous images by talented Photographers on our site. All photography is credited and linked so as well as finding the perfect venue you could find your photographer too!

In terms of functionality - the Venue Finder filtering system is both clever and simple to use. The site is also responsive - so whether you are searching on your mobile, tablet or laptop your experience will be second-to-none.

We will continue to grow and develop Coco this year so lots of exciting things to come!

You can find a comprehensive list of questions and helpful hints on the advice page on Coco, however here are my top 5 things to consider when scouting for the perfect wedding venue...

Check the fine print - even try to take a copy of the venues T&C's away with you on the first visit so you can consider the venue with your heart and your head.

Venues Costs - ensure you both understand the costs for the venue before signing on the pretty dotted line.

Create a spreadsheet of venues to visit - I think 4 in one day is the max as it can become overwhelming.

Be careful not to take an entourage on the venue visits - remember this day is about two people.

However feel free to talk to people - it's a great way of sorting through your own thoughts about each delicious venue you've seen!
