An Intimate Wedding In Argentina.

An Intimate Wedding In Argentina.

Today we're heading to Argentina to bring International Week to a close. We've had some BEAUTIFUL weddings for you to swoon over and this one is just as fabulous.

Ashleigh is English and Tom is Australian - they opted for an Argentinian wedding so that everyone would have to travel - not just one family. Despite the costs of the flights, this actually meant that they could keep expenditure down, by having a small but perfectly formed day.

AND they all had a lovely holiday in Argentina too. Which I think is probably the best reason for having a destination wedding!

I love the simplicity of their day - the beauty of the venue and the surroundings really shine through. Ashleigh's Charlie Brear gown is perfect too, it looks so elegant and creates a gorgeous shape on her, but she also looks comfortable and happy - which is hugely important when you are getting married at 35 degrees!

The beautiful images are courtesy of Kristian Leven who has done a fabulous job of capturing almost every emotion to pass across the Bride & Groom's faces. Just look at that cover image...it's as if the world has stopped for Ashleigh & Tom.

Enjoy this escape to Argentina and have a lovely Easter weekend full of family, friends and chocolate! We'll be back on Monday with lots more wedding inspiration on UK turf.

Ashleigh The Bride: For my dress I wanted something classic and timeless so opted for Charlie Brear, who do an array of fantastic wedding dresses and veils. The dress needed to be lightweight too as I was travelling with it to Argentina and it needed to be cool for the mid-summer heat (35 degrees on the day!).

The tiara and earrings I got at Lou Lou Puchalka in Leeds where I had been living so knew of the shop, and actually couldn't find one that was affordable in London! Lou did a great job by personally handcrafting my earrings to match the tiara I bought from her.

My husband's suit and tie were from Paul Smith. We wanted something sharp and modern and a good strong colour that would set off my dress and also look great in the summer sunshine! His shoes were a classic shoe bought especially for the day and we went for brown to compliment the earth tones of the vineyard setting and to go with his blue suit.

My husband is from Melbourne, Australia and I am from London so we decided to have the wedding somewhere overseas where everyone had to travel to rather than choosing between England and Australia. We both love sunshine and good wine and food, which Argentina has plenty of, and the cost of the wedding was actually very low, with the exception of the flights, due to the currency exchange rate being so good!

We were engaged for 18 months before the wedding so our friends and family had time to plan the trip and budget it in to their own schedules. We had a good turnout in the end of 30 people which made the wedding very special.

Bodega Lagarde itself is one of the best wineries in the region, and one of the only wineries to offer large scale catering and food with a 5 star reputation so choosing Bodega Lagarde was easy once we had chosen Argentina as the destination.

The venue organised everything regarding table arrangements and styling. We just went for classic white - they had done many weddings before so we trusted them to know what to do - and they did a fantastic job! The planning of the wedding was actually incredibly easy because of it being overseas, though one might have expected the opposite! The staff at the venue were so on the ball, they took care of everything and made the whole experience so easy and relaxing.

My husband and I wrote our own vows and asked a friend to be the celebrant and another close friend to do a reading at the ceremony which made everything very personal.

The food was organised by the venue - it was amazing quality food and the wine was supplied without limits throughout the afternoon and evening. Absolutely top notch!

A close friend of ours put us in contact with Kristian Leven and I asked if he would be interested in coming to Argentina to photograph our wedding - and luckily he said yes! I would not have had any other photographer capture my day - the photos were absolutely stunning and captured every special moment on the day with friends and family. I cannot recommend him more for his professionalism and skill at his craft.
