The Words of Love......Reading and Vow Suggestions For Your Wedding

via

Happy Thursday Peeps!

We are feeling the love on Festival Brides today with the latest guest post from Rachel of Bride By The Beach. She is discussing ideas and inspiration for those all important ceremony readings and wedding vows and has made some great suggestions.

The first reading, by the one and only Bob Marley, is actually one of the readings Bob and I chose for our wedding ceremony and reading it again now has brought back some amazing memories. We also asked my best friend to write a poem for us all about our relationship from her perspective (she knows Bob and I inside out!) and it was so lovely hearing it for the first time on our wedding day. Asking someone to write something for you, whether it's a poem or a short story, is such a lovely way of making your wedding that extra bit special and personal. It's also a great way of involving friends or family that have meant a lot to you both throughout your relationship.

So without further ado, I will hand you over to our Bride By The Beach....

Hello you beautiful boho brides to be!

Today is all about the words of Love. We managed to catch up with our lovely friend over the Bank Holiday weekend - he's the one that we kindly asked to be our celebrant in Ibiza. With six weeks to go, we needed to discuss the ceremony words, the vows and the rituals that we wanted to incorporate. We're really fortunate that he's know us as long as we've been a couple so he can bring his personal experiences of how we've grown together to the ceremony which is lovely.

So we needed inspiration! Thankfully, throughout the engagement period I've been scrap booking beautiful words for ideas for both the ceremony and the vows.

First up is some inspiration for potential readings. We absolutely loved these thoughts from one of our favourite musicians, Bob Marley. I love this for it's honesty and realistic view on love and togetherness.

The Boy sent me this the other day - so sweet.

Moving onto the vows. The Boy and I are writing our own short vows because I don't think the traditional ones are quite "us" but we do want to use them as a starter template but personalize them a la:

These beautiful words really do show you how you can make them personal to you and your partner.

And if you've got your vows sorted and ceremony signed off and need some one liners for cute little signs dotted around the venue, here's some to get the creative juices flowing:

I implore you, please check out Tyler Knott's website if you ever feel you need to whisper some sweet nothings to your other half - heartwarming haiku's galore.

So I really hope that all these words of love will help you craft something beautiful for your big day. I'm going to try and put pen to paper and hope the right words flow. Failing that, I'll steal the Boy's vows and insist that I go first on the day!
