The Perfect Fit...Tabitha & Chris Part One.

This morning brings us the wedding of lovely RMW Real Bride Tabitha. It's been a long wait, but it is definitely worth it people!!

We've got Tabitha's pretty maids in action, her beautiful bespoke gown from Kula Tsurdiu's Lace Market Boutique, Chris looking handsome in his blue suit...but I'm afraid you'll have to wait until tomorrow for all of the delicious decor details and the tear-inducing film from Blooming Lovely Films.

I'm sure you'll all be as proud of Tabitha as team RMW when you see how absolutely BEAUTIFUL she looks! Wait until you see the flowers in her hair - so pretty. She also managed to look ravishing for the entire day in spite of 30 degree heat...job well done Jodie Hazelwood!

So grab a cuppa, sit back, relax, and soak it all in...here is Tabitha & Chris part one...

RMW Real Bride Tabitha: 3011 days later...was a roasting hot day in July, was the day everyone I love the most congregated in the small town of Oakham, and was the day, 3011 days after our first date, that I finally wed my gorgeous Chris.

So yes...hello lovelies...I'm baaaaack!

Back to tell you the tale of the final chapter in our RMW story, and what a journey it has been.

I have been hovering over this sentence for hmmm...roughly an hour because I just do not know where to start. How can I possibly do justice with just my words to the most wonderful day of our lives? Thankfully I have the wonderful photos captured by the incredible Chris Barber and his lovely Jo, and our stunning film by the beautiful Leanne Dodds, to help me out. So as the great Maria Von Trapp once said 'Let's start at the very beginning, a very good place to start...'

Full on wedding mania started on Thursday with the setting up of the marquee (complete nightmare!) and then Friday was spent decorating the marquee (why I ever thought 'Oh my god, I'll have a marquee, it's such a blank canvas to decorate how I want bla bla bla', because it felt pretty daunting on that Friday I'll tell you).

Now I really can't thank my lovely family and friends enough, particularly my Mum, Dad and Sister, who came early to help set up, and the day which I had been dreading the most actually turned into a lovely one. We also had the wonderful Carmen, our 'On the Day' Coordinator to help us, always going above and beyond that one, and if anyone would like to hire a master pinwheel hanger then she is your girl!

Friday night was spent having manicures in my lovely hotel room with my Mum and Bridesmaids.

Saturday morning I woke up about 6am after a surprisingly full nights sleep and started the day like I do most, and had a shower. After climbing into my 'getting ready' pyjamas we went downstairs for breakfast in the garden. I was greeted by a sign wishing me happy wedding day and rose petals all over the table. I seriously can't thank Sandra and Valter at the The Fox and Hounds enough for all they did on our big day. It was the little things like this that made it feel so incredibly special. I felt like I was getting married at home.

Now I'm not sure if many of you remember the beginning of July 2013, it seems like a long time ago now, but boy was it hot!!! Like seriously...boiling! I had pretty much convinced myself that our summer marquee wedding would be a washout, sort of a self preservation thing so I wouldn't be disappointed, but I had never imagined it would be such absolutely perfect weather. Except...I am British after all - I could have done with it a few notches cooler. NOT to complain but I was roasting my socks off and spent most of the day clutching a fan.

Getting ready was one of my favourite parts of the day, it was so much fun being pampered. We hired the talents of Jodie Hazlewood on make-up and Louise Ingham on hair, and I really can't thank the two of them enough. It was such a pleasure having them both there. I think the biggest testament to the both of them is that despite the heat and sweating...sorry glowing and dancing, my hair and make up stayed put way into the small hours.

While we were getting ready, Rachel from Catkin Flowers arrived and my excitement levels hit the roof! Apart from the getting married bit, I think seeing my flowers was my most anticipated part of the day. I just adore flowers and I knew Rachel would create something beautiful...and boy was I right!

The day before the wedding we met up with Rachel and collected buckets of beautiful stems that she'd picked from her gardens. My Mum, Sister and I arranged these in all my decorated jars and they looked so beautiful on our tables and dotted just about anywhere there was a flat surface. On the day Rachel arrived with our bouquets, buttonholes - a ladies and a gents version, a little posy and head wreath for my flower girl, table centres and a humungous arrangement for the ceremony, which we later transported for the top table arrangement.

They were everything I had imagined and ten times more! If any of you remember, Rachel grows most of the flowers in her gardens at Doddington Hall and it meant all the more that they had been grown locally for our wedding. I can't thank Rachel enough for making all my wedding flower dreams come true!

Eventually after lots of girliness and bucks fizz; it was time to get dressed. My girls looked STUNNING in their mismatched bridesmaid dresses. One dress was from ASOS and the others from an American website called Modcloth, who I would really recommend. The dresses were beautiful and although you have to pay a bit more for postage, the dresses are so reasonable that it all equals out in the end. My little flower girl completely stole the show though in her John Lewis dress...the cutest flower girl I ever did see!

Next it was my turn and I got to put my beautiful handmade custom Kula Tsurdiu gown on. I can't tell you how happy I was with my final dress, and how comfortable it was on such a hot day! I felt like a million dollars.

After some photos with the girls it was nearly time to go and I won't lie, after my whirlwind of a morning, reality kicked in. This day which we had been planning for near enough two years was upon us and the enormity of it hit me like a brick wall! But time waits for no one and I was quickly ushered into our little Nissan Figaro. We hired the car from a lovely gentleman in London for the week and my Daddy drove me to the ceremony in it. This was such a lovely bit of the day, a few quiet moments with my Dad and also a few laughs. The car was a little, shall we say, awkward to drive and had a habit of coming to a complete and sudden stop a few metres from a junction, so ensued general hilarity leaving no time to be nervous to be honest.

It's really hard to describe our wedding ceremony; the whole thing was an emotional, surreal, out of body, and far too quick experience.

I remember arriving and the girls sorting out my dress, I remember squeezing my Dad's arm for dear life, I remember waiting at the door and waving at my Aunty, and I remember the first strings of 'Arrival of the Birds' by the Cinematic Orchestra (if this was an audio book it would say 'Press Play Now' ☺) and then that moment in the music that Chris had played to me so many times, meaning the queue to my entrance, and then I remember putting one front in front of the other...

Then I remember Chris...and the rest is a little bit of a blur.

My very handsome Groom looked amazing in his bespoke Reiss suit. I'm so glad we went down that route as it really is his pride and joy, the cut of the suit and way it fits is just perfect. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as an investment. He wore a Paul Smith tie, shoes and socks, along with the beautiful Paul Smith (he's a fan if you hadn't already got that) watch that was my wedding gift from me. There's not a day gone by since the wedding day that he hasn't had it on.

His Best Man and Groomsmen all wore their own grey suits complete with matching silk ties. They all looked so dapper and did us both so proud on the day!

One thing I've loved since our wedding was listening to all the stories our friends and family have from the day. Naturally being the Bride and Groom, you can only be in one place at one time and so a lot is missed. I have so enjoyed seeing our day through their eyes and all the funny heart warming stories and tales they have to share; it's like seeing your wedding day through entirely different view point. One of my faves is the story of the nearly lost rings (they were in the Best Man's pocket but when Chris' Nanna saw the empty ring box in a Groomsman's hand, all hell broke loose) and Chris having to be told by his Mum to take his hands out of his pockets like a little boy, just before my big entrance - some things never change huh!?

My best friend and bridesmaid did a reading for us. We chose ' Blessing of the Hands.' This reading really struck a cord as I have always remembered something my Mum said to me after some particularly traumatic teenage break up (can't even remember his name now!)...that one day I would find someone whose hands would fit perfectly with mine. It stuck with me, and when I met Chris and his hands slotted perfectly into mine, I knew I had found something very special.
