When I first clapped eyes on this wedding by Craig and Eva Sanders Photography, I can hand on heart say that my breath was momentarily taken away. Because it is beautiful and I just know that you will love it as much as I do.

For a start it takes place in a castle, under the pink blossom trees. You know folks sometimes fairytales really do come true. For that's what this big day is...a real life fairytale that's come to life with Tanita and Maurillio as its leading lady and man.

Maurillio plays his part of the dashing groom in his tartan kilt splendidly and I don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful bride than Tanita in her ruffled fishtail frock and crown of billy balls and succulents in her hair. You wouldn't think it would work but it SO does.

Frankly this wedding looks like it was a blast and I wouldn't mind a spot of jazz and cocktails myself right now.

Tanita The Bride: Fyvie Castle has a really interesting history and apparently a few ghosts with stories to tell! It is a beautiful setting and when we were thinking about where we would like to get married it was our number one choice. During March and April the grounds of Fyvie are full of daffodils and blossom trees which made it perfect for our wedding date on the 11th of April 2014.

My head bridesmaid Leanne remembered that we had visited Fyvie Castle when we were both in the Brownies (aged around 9 or so) and had signed a visitor book there which she had managed to find and take a picture of! How time flies and what an incredible coincidence! My dear friend of twenty years Leanne made a speech at our wedding and literally brought a tear to my eye.

We wanted a really clear and simple colour scheme with blue, hints of yellow, silver and green. These are also the colours of the Brazilian flag which was quite fitting with my husband being from Brazil! Yellow is also a bright and spring like colour so it goes with the time of year. The invitations were also in keeping with the blue and silver colour theme. There are lots of beautiful details inside Fyvie Castle - from paintings to tapestries and gorgeous ceilings. This meant that we didn't need to go overboard with decorating our venue.

We wanted something quite modern and clear to contrast with the decorative surroundings in Fyvie Castle. I really like succulents - we have quite a lot in our conservatory and I thought having these in the bridal bouquet would be something different/cool and add a bit of a twist. My hairdresser Michelle Reid had the great idea of putting some of the flowers/succulents in my hair and I absolutely loved the final result! Isla Duncan did a fantastic job too with the flowers on the day.

I tried on a few wedding dresses but when I tried the Ian Stewart dress on at Avorio, I think my mum and I fell in love! I felt like a million dollars in the dress and it was also quite a modern style which contrasted nicely with Fyvie Castle. My husband had bought me the jewellery in a small boutique in Bali on holiday which had yellow topaz gems which also really went with the colour scheme/décor! I chose quite a low heel as I didn't want to struggle getting up and down the stairs.

My husband and three of his groomsmen had never worn a kilt before so it was quite a novelty for them! However they all said that they enjoyed the experience.

When Maurillio proposed to me in September 2012, we began to look for photographers for our wedding. Once I looked at the fairytale and romantic quality of Craig and Eva Sanders work I knew that they were the photographers for us and thankfully they were available! Woohoo! They captured the happiness of the day perfectly and we couldn't ask for anything more than that.

As it was a spring wedding, I wanted light and bright dresses for my four bridesmaids. The royal blue colour was gorgeous and the short style meant that they were able to wear some sparkly silver open toed shoes and it had some detail around the middle which tied in with the bottom of my dress.

We had both been told that the day of your wedding flies by and that you hardly get time to talk to all of your guests (which is very true!) so we decided to have an evening soiree with jazz, cocktails and some cheese for wedding reception. This was held in Fyvie Castle and meant that we didn't need to lose any time travelling to a different venue for the evening reception. The cheese and nibbles were kindly provided by one of our favourite shops, the Kilted Frog in Inverurie and were absolutely delicious! Our caterers, Deeside Cuisine also did a fantastic job on the day!

When my father passed away in 2011, Pam Adam (Assistant Chaplain at Royal Cornhill Hospital) did the service for him and did a beautiful job. She had been with my family at their lowest point and when I asked her to be a part of our wedding day she said she would be delighted. After we had said our vows, Pam gave a beautiful blessing to us which was both personal and moving. This made the ceremony even more special to us, so thank you to Pam for her kind words - we will never forget it!

Although there is a lot of planning involved in organising your wedding it is absolutely worth it on the day. To have your family, friends and husband to be there means it is really is one of the best days of your life.

Not everything will go exactly to plan but remember that is okay - it's actually those moments which can be the most funny. I struggled to get Maurillio's wedding ring on his finger and it made everyone laugh including myself!
