Curling and applying mascara can sometimes leave our lashes looking tangled or clumpy. Tessa McCullough, makeup artist at G2O Spa & Salon in Boston, suggests brushing a clean mascara wand through the lashes to help lift and separate them and create a flawless, full lash line.

McCullough also recommends using mascara wands to keep lips soft and smooth. First, apply a very soft lip balm such as L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche Balm. Then, lightly brush your lips with a mascara wand to exfoliate the dead skin. This also allows the pigment in your lipstick to go on evenly, especially with darker lip shades.

By brushing a clean mascara wand through the brows after filling them in with a brow pencil or gel like Maybelline Brow Drama. The wand helps tame and soften the shaped brows for a more natural look, says McCullough.
