Stylish & Vibrant Hand Crafted Liberty Print Wedding

Stylish & Vibrant Hand Crafted Liberty Print Wedding

This wedding is so full of style and love, what a way to start the week.

Jessica and William held their wedding on the 10th May 2014 at Nancarrow Farm in Cornwall following a Church ceremony by Jessica's Gran. It was important to them that their wedding was fun, easy going and personal.

I love the subtle Liberty print theme in their day, from William's tie to the hand crafted napkins and bunting. There were the most gorgeous organic blooms; Jessica's bouquet is a triumph and worked perfectly with her pretty hair and lace gown.

Thanks so much to the fantastic Ross Talling for sharing these images today.

THE PROPOSAL | Will proposed next to the lake in Lake Como which is where Will flew out to over 5 years ago to ask Jess to go out with him. It had been an amazing day with a boat trip, lunch at a lakeside restaurant and relaxing with each other and ended with Champagne and lots of happy tears!!

THE VISION | We wanted to do things our way and spent a long time looking for a venue that would allow us the freedom to arrange things ourselves. We wanted it to be as personal to us as possible and fun & easy going for the guests.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | We really didn't have a set planning process, we went for suppliers as and when we felt we'd found someone that we got on with and could work within our budget and everything else pretty much fell into place.. with a jam packed week before the wedding and lots of help from friends & family ☺

THE VENUE | Nancarrow Farm which was under construction/renovation when we went to view it but in the midst of the building site we knew it was going to be perfect for us.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Tracey dress by Sottero & Midgeley - Something Old. Something New: A very lovely gift my Marie, my Dad's wife, given to me the night before the wedding & also some beautiful pale pink YSL shoes. Something Borrowed: Diamond necklace borrowed from my Mum. Something Blue: A Tiffany bracelet Will bought for my birthday and I haven't taken it off since.

FINDING THE DRESS | After finding 'the one' with family in bridal shops, I was uncharacteristically patient and looked out on eBay for a suitable second hand dress in my size. It did involve a day trip to the Isle of Wight but I found it! Will's Mum then spent hours shortening it for me and making it ready to wear.

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Bought as soon as I tried one on that was long enough about a year before the wedding. Church's Brogues, Liberty tie from eBay. Pocket square & tie pin were a present from Jex. A Paul Smith shirt, panic bought the week before the wedding.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | We had 2 readings by close family members. We chose Song of Solomon 2 for the bible reading and the second reading was from Charles Dickens Great Expectations and the opening passage to the novel One Day - this is a passage that struck a chord with me when I read it to think how different my life would be were it not for meeting Will on that one memorable day.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | 4 of my favourite people in all the world. The most thoughtful & beautiful ladies who between them arranged 2 amazing hen do's - a surprise houseboat stay in Amsterdam with Fondue, Ice Bar drinks, Little Miss Bride, sex museum & lots of booze followed up with a trip around the world themed hen do at my house & London with party games, high tea, Moroccan belly dancing & margaritas.

THE FLOWERS | Bouquets, Buttonholes and a bucket of loose flowers provided by the Garden Gate Flower Company - we really wanted to source locally so went with less is more to work within our budget. We were keen to let the beautiful venue and Will and his Mum's handcrafted items to be the centre of attention.

THE CAKE | Jess saw the most beautiful pink champagne truffle wedding cake in a magazine so we thought we would have some fun recreating it ourselves! The 3 tiers were made by Will's Mum & covered with her homemade marzipan. They were then decorated with Charbonnel & Walker pink champagne truffles, the cake toppers were from Jess's Dad, the 'cakestand' cut by Will's Dad & the flowers arranged by Jess the night before the wedding.. we forgot to sort a cake knife so the axe was a late addition.. !

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | The fantastic Ross Talling who went above & beyond our expectations & got some incredible photos.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Will's handmade table items were something to be proud of.. serving bowls, boards, platters, salt & pepper dishes all by Will. The table runners and napkins were all made by Will's Mum from Liberty fabric - we had a very loose Liberty theme from the guest book, tables, grooms party accessories to the thank you gifts and handmade bunting invitations. We did everything ourselves as much as possible.. !

THE HONEYMOON | A dream honeymoon to Sri Lanka & a stay in an over-water villa in the Maldives. The best trip away and a fantastic start to our newly married life together, it was great to let it all sink in and spend some time together - a big highlight was getting a link to our wedding video when we were in the Maldives.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | The whole day was full of them but a few to mention include having Jess' Gran aka Vicar Penny marry us. The live band (Gumbo Flyers) getting EVERYONE on the dance floor, the surprise projector presentation from Will's Mum & Jess's Dad.

WH - Jess's second wedding dress blew me away and is something I won't ever forget.

JH - I wasn't really interested in a wedding car beforehand but both trips to and from the church with my Dad driving me with the bridesmaids and then my new husband were 2 of my favourite parts of the day ☺

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Have fun, what you want. It may seem like a huge expense for one day but it is hugely worth it. Also don't be afraid to ask for help from friends and family, it makes it much more fun and they do love you enough to tell you when they can't do what you've asked.. ☺
