Time for the first wedding of the week and it is a corker.

Debbie and William were married on the 6 ^th September 2014 in a church ceremony followed by a reception at The Barn at Rosedew Farm in South Wales. They chose the most beautiful of settings and had some amazing cliff top portraits that they will be sure to treasure forever.

There was a pretty powder blue colour scheme with bow ties aplenty, romantic fresh flowers and elegant mismatched bridesmaid dresses.

Debbie looked amazing in her chic fishtail gown with boho fabulous headpiece while William went for a blue suit with white accessories for a dashing look. Be sure to keep an eye out for the cutest little ones, an epic cake and fun games in the evening.

THE PROPOSAL | Clyne Gardens, Swansea - Will's mother's family are from Swansea and he had visited these beautiful gardens on many occasion as a young child so on 6 ^th September 2013 (our son's 1 ^st birthday) he decided to take us there for a family picnic (dog included) with the intention of proposing, much to my utter surprise as I was under the impression it was merely a birthday picnic for our little boy.

THE VISION | Amazing food, a pretty setting and most importantly a really good party.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | I pretty much began assembling my guest list the day after the proposal as I am quite possibly one of the most over-organised people you could ever meet. Although I never thought I wanted to get married, after having a son my priorities changed and as soon as the proposal was over I couldn't wait to start making lists (of which there were many!) Fell in love with my wedding planner.

BUDGET | Initial budget was £15,000 as I thought this was very realistic but in hindsight I couldn't have been more wrong as I easily spent double that and don't regret a single penny.

THE VENUE | The Holy Cross Church, Cowbridge followed by The Barn at Rosedew Farm, Llantwit Major. The barn had a gorgeous old country feel and coincidentally the only date available was the 6 ^th September 2014, exactly a year to the day that we got engaged and our son's 2 ^nd birthday - fate!!!

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Dress: Laura May Bridal - Australian designer. Shoes: Perdita's Wedding Shoes.

Veil: eBay. I wasn't sure if I wanted to wear a veil or not but decided to buy one just in case and I'm so glad I did as I absolutely loved it but am also glad I didn't end up spending hundreds of pounds on it as there were just so many other things to buy for the day

Headpiece: I decided on a made to order head piece as I have always had an interest in quirky hair accessories and though that a one of a kind piece would just about sum me up. I however didn't end up spending a fortune and can't thank Ashley from With Love From Bobbin enough for the gorgeous headpiece she made for me.

FINDING THE DRESS | I decided to take a practical approach to dress shopping - I visited Celtic Brides on North Road (lower price ranges), High Society in Cowbridge (high price ranges) and then Laura May on Crwys Road (middle of the road prices but young and fresh offerings). My thinking being that I would surely be able to find a suitable dress in either of these 3 shops and would avoid endless dress shopping which may take the appeal out of what should be such a joyous activity. The dress I ended up choosing was in Laura May for one weekend only (a sample weekend for the specific designer) and as I arrived it had only just been taken out of the box 10 minutes prior to my visit the Friday afternoon.... I fell in love!

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Dyfed Menswear - my partner wanted to opt for a lighter blue suit rather than a standard navy.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | Sooner or Later by anonymous, a gorgeous poem about love which had been read at Will's sister's wedding (she is no longer with us so we thought this would be a nice way of bringing her in to the day).

We opted for modern music that we liked played by the St David's String Quartet: Kissing You - Des'ree to walk in to, well known hymns such as All Things Bright & Beautiful, Give Me Oil in my Lamp, Guide Me Oh Thouh Great Redeemer and music that had been played at Katie's funeral: Fields of Gold for our exit.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | After looking in the bridal shops and realising £200 per dress was not really a figure I wanted to spend per bridesmaid, I decided to look elsewhere and in the end settled on mis-match dresses which I purchased off various Etsy sellers: misdress & dresstells based in China. The total cost being. Dresstells is no longer trading.

THE FLOWERS | My mother Joanne's piece de resistance, no expense was to be spared, we had gorgeous table arrangements, outside flowers and bridal flowers from Flowers with a Twist.

THE CAKE | My partner wanted one thing for this wedding and that was a croquembouche rather than a traditional wedding cake. After trying various suppliers and sampling their produce we decided on Zucchero Patisserie as although they were by far the most expensive, the quality was unquestionable.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | One of the most exceptional photographers I've ever come across. Not only were our final photographs amazing but her personality was uplifting and she made us feel nothing but comfortable all day although I times you barely even noticed her and her colleague were there.

We also decided on a wedding video as my best friend wisely told me that this will probably be one of the only times in your life that all of the people you love and cherish in this world will be under one roof so definitely an occasion to capture on film. We decided upon Cherished Memories Video and were astonished when our incredible wedding video arrived as we were in awe of the way it was edited and could not have been more pleased with how perfectly it captured the essence of our day. Craig is incredible.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Evening food was provided by Bar 44 using their mobile tapas van. Bar 44 happens to be one of our favourite places to eat and also the place we went for our first date. They also put up a gin station where guests could purchase gin based cocktails whilst nibbling on Spanish delights.

I imported mis-match napkins from America again bought from Etsy so that I could make bowties for napkins instead of your usual boring table decoration.

Instead of favours that would go to waste we decided on alcohol miniatures for the masses which we bought online.

As I had created my own save the dates and wedding invitations I decided to create the table plan myself using a wooden pallet, decorative frames, plants and fairy lights and then used small luggage tags for the place settings.

Bunting, chair ties and candles to decorate the barn were rented from a fabulous local supplier called Dear Florence; she has a natural flare for creating gorgeous wedding settings and could not have been more helpful as I added more little additions from day to day.

Music: I approached a young lady called Sophie de Winter who I had seen busking on the streets at the Cowbridge food and drink festival to play guitar and sing at the reception - she ended up fitting in so well she stayed for the whole day, ate with us and even joined the evening singers on stage for an impromptu performance; amazing singer with a great personality to match. I found her on Facebook.

Evening music which turned out to be a mixture of soul, rnb and rap was provided by Lee Vaughan and Dai Faulkner (who's been on the voice), they were flawless and by no means got the party started. They were incredible from start to finish; in fact they were so good that a wedding guest even paid them extra on the night to play for an additional hour. Again, they were found on Facebook but recommended by a friend who had seen them on many occasion playing in local pubs.

Coming from Wales my partner wanted some sort of rugby game incorporated in to the day and although I tried on the internet to find various suppliers in the end our friend managed to build us a rugby stand which the men then used to shoot balls through on the day... a definite manly touch after all of my feminine additions and quite honestly, it was a huge hit!

THE HONEYMOON | We went to Bali for 2 weeks without our son and the whole trip was organised through Western Oriental Travel. The trip was amazing from start to finish and a much needed chance to unwind after a hectic few weeks.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | The party!!! The evening turned in to a raucous affair; guests danced from dusk until dawn, the groom sprayed champagne whilst dancing on a table and laughter filled the air, the best day of our lives. One that we will remember and talk about for years to come.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Make decisions based on what you'd like and not what you think other people will be interested in. If you've got something you really want, go with it. It's your day and if you're having the time of your life, everyone will soon be joining in with you
