Do not panic or over-stress if you are not running according to schedule - the bride will always be fashionably late! Try to plan as little as possible to do on the day; you will need the time to relax, enjoy and embrace everything else! These are wise words from the Melody, the beautiful bride in today's just hitched feature by Clareece Smit Photography.

Lovebirds | How did you two meet?

We met online over nine years ago. Chris is from Port Elizabeth and I am from Johannesburg. Distanced by 1061 kilometres, we maintained contact all these years through online chats, SMS's and phone calls. In 2012, Chris spontaneously decided to drive up from Port Elizabeth to Johannesburg to meet me in person. When we finally met in person, it was complete with the excitement of meeting someone new, but with the ease of familiarity we knew of each other. Two months later, he came back to Johannesburg and asked me out!

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?

Chris planned a trip to the Tsitsikamma National Park, a place we visited on our first holiday. We had a day of activities and as we left, Chris wanted to visit the special spot along the exit of the Park, which we had stopped at the first time we visited. He drove past the spot, but turned back - he was very insistent! When we found it, he convinced a tired me out of the car, for some photos. The view was beautiful -it was the sky, the ocean breeze and waves against the rocks. Chris took my hand and brought up sentimental memories, before I knew it, I had tears in my eyes and he was on his knee with a ring!

The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

It was the moment I walked down the aisle; I was completely overwhelmed with so many different emotions! I will never forget the moment my mother passed my hand over to Chris at the end of the aisle, the look on his face as she told him that from then on, he must look after me. I think that scene will always remain with me.

I Quote | Describe in one sentence your wedding day

Chris said that it was "perfect in every way!"

Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides

Do not panic or over-stress if you are not running according to schedule - the bride will always be fashionably late! Try to plan as little as possible to do on the day; you will need the time to relax, enjoy and embrace everything else! Remember that at the end of the day, the most important event is the union between you and your partner, everything else is secondary.
