Why should models have all the fun? Each month we're finding a "real woman"-i.e., of any shape and size-and giving her the model treatment in The Realest. We bring the wardrobe, stylist, photographer, makeup artist and blog editor-she brings her anything-but-one-size-fits-all personality and style-and we all head out on location for an IRL photo shoot to showcase our monthly Dress Spotlight.

Meet Jojo: super smart and super cool, she's a mother of two and met her husband in the local hip hop scene. Turning their love of the culture and music into a business, they founded Bamboo Beats-a wedding and events DJ service that's dedicated to mastering the art of DJing. They must be doing it right, Bamboo Beats was just named Best Reception DJ for 2016 by Seattle Bride Magazine. Congrats you guys!

We met up with Jojo at one of her event-space haunts, the funky Fremont Foundry and got right down to hanging out and trying on a handful of our party dresses. Read on to learn more about Jojo's style, her favorite wedding songs to play right now and see our favorite styles from the day.

On work and play: I own a well-known Wedding DJ service with my husband, Isaac, called Bamboo Beats! We started our business in 2005 shortly after we planned our own wedding. Isaac is the DJ and I am the self-proclaimed "Vibe Manager." Basically, I handle all the bookings, marketing, social media and customer service. For fun, we have a great time keeping up with our two sons who are 3 and 6 years old. They keep us busy with playtime, swimming and lots of excursions. When I have a chance, I love catching artists at Jazz Alley or the Triple Door.

Why she loves her job: Being in the special events and wedding industry means you mainly work nights and weekends. And, because we're co-owners of the business, I love that I get to work with my husband. I'm also happy that we are able to spend the majority of our time with the kids. I also love that the wedding industry has so many talented, caring and fun professionals! Seeing the magic that happens when we all do our thing to make an event spectacular is an amazing feeling!

On her style: I like the modern simplicity of having a uniform of black dresses and outfits for when we are DJing events. For industry events and client meetings, I like modern dresses with graphic prints, bold colors and interesting cuts. For fun, I like mixing modern and bohemian styles, or sporty and urban looks together. Some days I feel like making my naturally curly hair even bigger; some days I like to go sleek and straight.

Her favorite things in her closet: The casual shoes I wear the most are these black Nike gladiator wedge "sneakers" that I bought from a Pop-In shop at Nordstrom. They have a sporty modern edge but are as comfy as a sneaker. I also love my faux leather leggings that add some sheen and texture to my all black outfits. Lastly, my favorite necklace is a gold name chain that says "Jojo" (which I had way before Carrie from Sex In the City made it popular! lol).

On what inspires her: I'm inspired by modern and mid-century modern design, global culture and influences, urban art, fashion, music, event design, mood and color boards, inspirational sayings and innovative technology. I love great design and the merging of new and old school.

Her favorite pieces from the photo shoot: I loved the pink silk bomber jacket and white Prada shoes! It was a nostalgic step up from my old school days as a b-girl in the '90s!

The romper and crop jacket were another favorite. I loved the raspberry romper color and off-white jacket. I would wear this type of look to our client meetings or industry shindigs.

I also loved the color of the bright pink dress and the cutout sleeves of the black dress.
