While both Julia and James are originally from Canada, they first met in Sydney, Australia, where he was opening an office for his business and she was finishing up a work visa. Later on, fate brought them together again in Toronto, where he was finally able to secure a date with her - only to find out that she was planning on moving to LA in a few days! "I flew to LA a few weeks later and, after some convincing (and a puppy), Julia moved back to Toronto. The rest is history!" James says.

When it came time to propose, it was little surprise to James that Julia was the one to pop the question, ordering a bottle of champagne and strawberries to their Las Vegas hotel room and placing a note beside it. "It was the best moment of my life and just a small indication of the confident, wonderful woman I was going to marry," James says.

For their wedding, these jet setters chose to keep the celebration close to home, opting for a simple yet elegant event at their family farm in Creemore, Ontario. "Having our family open the farm to our celebration was truly the greatest gift of love and support as well as being completely one of a kind!" Julia says. The couple chose a colour palette of white and green to keep the look fresh and natural, incorporating colour subtly through details like the green apple place cards. "The table set up was so elegant and simple. It matched the country theme perfectly and the guests appreciated the edible place cards!" Julia says.

The green colour scheme was also incorporated through James's suit, which was imported from Scotland in Julia's family's tartan. "James's suit was a big surprise for my mom and it was one of my favourite details of the day," Julia says.

The couple says their celebration was full of touching moments, but they agree that one of the most memorable was walking into the reception as husband and wife. "We really felt all the love and support of our friends and family. There's nothing else like it!"
