Lovebirds | How did you two meet?

I was in my fourth year of studies in Wellington. He was on business and we first spoke on Whatsapp when he helped me to get a lift from my apartment to his house where the cell group (Bible study group) was held. That Sunday, the 28th of May, I met him for the first time in the foyer of CRC church. Our eyes locked as he friendly greeted me with : "So, are you Annette?" and he sat down beside me and my best friend. I could feel the butterflies and kept thinking this guy is so handsome, but I must remember to keep my distance until I know he isn't just a charmer. He would say I was the one who sat down beside him.

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?

I temporarily worked in Bonnievale, which gave him enough time to plan the surprise. I completely put the thought of getting engage out of my head that lead it to be even a bigger surprise ever. On the 14th of March '15 everyone played along that we were meant to do an activity that involved heights as it was his turn to arrange something for that month. The whole day passed and he became very silent. We drove into the place and there he said the first part is horse riding. As we reached Noordhoek beach, we stopped,packed a heart with rose pedals, prayed and when I opened my eyes he was on his knee!

The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Everything went by so fast that day.The ceremony was the most memorable moment as this was held on the beach , with our favourite pastor who gave us a very important message that we could take with us as we promised to love and cherish each other until death . Becoming one is one of the most miraculous and mysterious things that God's word speaks of in Ephesians 32. All our most closest family and friends was part of this moment and then of course our dog , Stella, brought in the rings . It was so special to have her there and it made the whole idea of us becoming one family much more complete.

Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides

Don't let anyone of anything steal your joy on the day of your wedding. Let it pass as it won't matter when you are joined to your soul mate. Spend time and money on things that matters to you and that would be a benefit for longer than that day for example photos and a video. There is nothing like looking back to most memorable day and reliving the moment. One day some of the people that celebrated that day with you, aren't even going to be there anymore and then you can look back to a awesome memory of the day where it all began. You miss so much of the day with all the formalities and everyone that wants to congratulate you, remember to take a moment with your hubby to take it all in.
