We love a good dog wedding -- who doesn't? -- but what made Taffy and Bear's "puptials" on Saturday even better was that they were "tying the leash" for a good cause.

The dog wedding was part of the 2nd annual "Wags and Whiskers" fundraiser for Senior Dog Haven and Hospice in Wilmington, Delaware -- an organization dedicated to helping abandoned senior dogs find loving homes.

Dog owners were asked to submit pictures of their furry friends older than seven years to the shelter's Facebook page, and fans voted for the pups they wanted to see as the bride, groom, best man and maid of honor. Even dogs not rescued from the shelter could enter the contest.

This year's bride was a 16-year-old Chow mix named Taffy -- a former resident of Senior Dog Haven who was later rescued. The groom was an 11-year-old Shepard mix named Bear, who came in all the way from New Jersey. Many former Haven rescues also attended the "puptials" with their humans, USA Today reported.

A rep from Senior Dog Haven told The Huffington Post that the event raised $4,000 for the non-profit.
