Oh ho ho! We've got a corker of a big day to share with you this morning lovely people. Yep we have Choos and a pretty Rose bouquet and vintage cars and mint bridesmaid dresses and floral arches galore for you to pin and gawp over.

Laura and Michael married in Whittlebury and then decamped to a private field where they partied until dawn amongst reams of bunting, a pink bicycle and a beehive table plan. Yep an actual beehive table plan; it's most definitely the first time I've heard of such a novelty and hopefully not the last because it's pretty darn awesome!

Laura The Bride: Our wedding was last summer and took place in Northamptonshire. We were living in Vancouver when we got engaged and then moved to Switzerland two months before the wedding so the planning involved some military style precision to fit all the wedmin into the few weeks we were back in the UK!

We got married in the church in Whittlebury and a local landowner kindly agreed to let us have the wedding in one of his fields. Wyatt James were our caterers and we used Chelsea Hire for the marquee. Without a 'proper' venue we were quite reliant on these two to be the backbone of the day but they were both great, very professional and friendly. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were big - very important for me! In the evening we had a cheese cake from The Cheese Shed which along with mini pork pies fuelled the dancing.

We had a band which played during the drinks reception and dinner which coincidently I found on the pages of Rock My Wedding. I can't even begin to describe how brilliant they were, they had everyone out of their seats dancing to 'I am the music man' before the dessert had been served! Everyone LOVED them.
I also found KRAAN Wedding Photography on RMW. Marina and Martin are lovely, they weren't intrusive but somehow managed to get plenty of different photos which capture every bit of the day.

My dad gave a us an early wedding present of a GoPro camera as we do a lot of mountain biking and skiing. Not having the budget for a videographer we used it to record the service and the speeches and it worked perfectly. I wanted one of the ushers to wear it on their head throughout the day but Michael vetoed that idea!

I got my dress from a shop in Vancouver after trawling round every shop in I could find! It was by Romona Keveza. For the shoes I was lucky that one of the bridesmaid's boyfriends used to work at none other than Jimmy Choo! They have staff sample sales in London but as I was living in Vancouver at the time I sat by my phone as she sent me photos of various options in size 7. In the end I was able to say 'I do in Choo' for just 70 quid!

We found the bridesmaid dresses on a mad dash one evening across Oxford Street during a trip back to the UK. Having had a bit of a long standing joke with the bridesmaids about my love for the colour mint it was pretty obvious what colour they would be - minty! They were from Debenhams, a few days later I actually saw them on sale so returned them and bought them back for half the price!

We designed the invitations and orders of service ourselves. I found the floral print on an image gallery website and then that gave us a bit of a blue/pink/mint green theme for the rest of the day. I'm not particularly artistic (I'm an accountant!) but with a bit of copying from Pinterest managed to create the invitations and orders of service.

We were very fortunate that Michael's parents' neighbour is a member of a flower club and kindly offered to do all the church flowers for us including the flower arch which looked beautiful. She also got a load of other flowers for us from a market and we 'arranged' them ourselves into table decorations and into other odd containers that we found in Michaels parents garage. A florist in Towcester did the beautiful bouquets and the buttonholes.

As the marquee was just in a field, we had to decorate the outdoor space and marquee ourselves and we ended up making lots of the decorations with the generous help of our families. My Mum and Nanna made the beautiful bunting in the marquee. They had a full blown production line going for a week but the end effect was brilliant and really made the marquee. My father in law has a hardware shop in the local town, so we were lucky that we were able to source quite a few things from there including mason jars, strings of lights for outside, garden furniture, blackboard paint etc. We made the all the signs ourselves with chalk pens and old bits of chipboard/wood and even found an old rusty bike in Michael's parents' garage which we painted pink and adorned with flowers to add a bit of colour to the field.

I had been quite an avid Pinterest / wedding blog reader so had generally come up with the ideas for the wedding, however Michael had a flash of inspiration one night and decided he was going to make a table plan out of a beehive (his parents keep bees so luckily there was one to hand!). I have to say I was initially skeptical but it turned out to be great. He's very proud of it and insists that there has never been a beehive table plan in the entire history of weddings.

A big help throughout the whole weekend was the best man who coincidentally makes some beautiful wedding presents (that we were the recipient of) which you can find on Not On The High Street. He helped us rake up cow pats from the field the day before the wedding so think he definitely deserves a mention and his stuff is beautiful if you have any wedding gifts to buy this year.
