Nice

Right on the Mediterranean coastline, Nice is one of the jewels of the French Riviera. And it's just as pretty as you think it is. Take a stroll on the Promenade de Anglais. Throughout the year, plenty of special events are held here, but even on an average day the view can't be beat! You'll recognize this city's Vielle Ville (Old Town) from Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief as you walk along the narrow streets and admire all of booths full of flowers and treats.

Bordeaux

Wine lovers rejoice! Bordeaux is the perfect honeymoon destination for you. Full of lush vineyards, Bordeaux is a city in southwestern France located right on the Garonne River. The riverfront is teeming with beautiful views, interesting shops, and plenty of places to get lost for the day. While there, make sure to see the Place de la Bourse, built under King Louis XV. Stay past sunset so that you can see the buildings lit up at night for an especially memorable sight!

Strasbourg

Close to the German border, Strasbourg is a veritable French-German fusion of food, culture, and architecture. The one non negotiable here is a river tour. It's the best way to see the city and all of its charms. If you are considering taking your honeymoon in the winter, think about going during the Christmas season. Strasbourg is host to a lovely Christmas market each year. Marseille

The second-largest city in France is chock-full of things to see and do. Make sure to take time to visit its most notable cathedral, the Notre Dame de la Garde. Need to cool off on a warm summer day? Go cliff diving at Calanques National Park. With sparkling blue waters and a dramatic rocky coast, you'll feel as if you are living in a postcard. Avignon

A little known fact is that Avignon was once home to the Catholic papacy. Visit the Pope's Palace to learn all about this unique history. The Saturday morning market will tempt you, and their Old Town will enthrall you with picturesque cottages and water mills.

Chamonix

Its claim to fame being the first host of the Winter Olympics, Chamonix is located in the shadow of Mont Blanc's summit. Although there are plenty of things to keep you occupied during the summer, this is definitely a French destination made for a winter honeymoon! Take a cable car into the Alps and over a glacier for an unforgettable ride. You can also journey into Mer de Glace, France's largest glacier, via ice caves.
