Your wedding day is one of, if not the, most important day(s) of your life. And the photographs from that day will serve as irreplaceable reminders of your happiness and joy. Below are some pre wedding and wedding day tips for makeup!

Pre-Wedding:

  1. Get facials beginning several months in advance. Either professionally or DIY, to make sure that your skin is in its best condition for your wedding day. Be sure to include exfoliation (for deep cleaning and pore minimizing), moisturizing (for restoration and nourishment), and a mask for your particular skin type (to tighten and tone the skin).
  2. Do your research. Find a credentialed professional makeup artist that has a proven record of training, practice and professionalism. Next, be sure that your artist is dependable as well as experienced. Don't know where to begin your search? Ask former brides for referrals or visit your local cosmetic counter and enquire about freelance makeup artist.
  3. Book your makeup artist at least 4 months before your big day. This may seem like an extreme time line but consider booking your artist just as important as booking other professionals that contribute to making your day go as beautiful as you've planned.
  4. Consult with your makeup artist well before your wedding date to share your likes, dislikes, concerns and most importantly your vision of beauty four your wedding day.

5 Bridal Makeup Tips:

They tend to photograph and blend better, and have a more natural skin finish. Powders can look ashy and too light paired with the flash from the camera.

Shy away from high shine glitters.
Although the current trends in makeup are glittery eye shadow, postpone this technique for another time. Use soft colors to create a fresh clean beauty look that will transcend what's currently in trend and be timeless.

Choose a blush that is soft in color and complimentary to your smile.
Blush should not be the brightest color of your makeup application. Your blush should complement your bouquet and your lipstick color.

    Use waterproof and longwearing products.
For long days that require you to look your best from morning till night, makeup that has staying power will be your best option. Use primers to help extend wear and color payoff of your makeup. And don't forget the waterproof mascara to stand against your tears of joy!

Choose a lip color that will
Choose a color that will add a "pop of color" to your look. Use a lipstick, lip liner, and maybe a gloss to add dimension. ***Bonus tip: on your wedding day, you will hug and kiss many people. Cut down on transfer by setting your makeup with a translucent powder.
