We love hearing from our panel of beauty pros about the latest and greatest beauty tricks. Today, we're lucky enough to hear from makeup pro Rachel Halsey, who spills her fave beauty hacks for any makeup emergency.

There's nothing worse than messing up your makeup. Nobody wants to be seen with smudged mascara or eyeliner-gone-rogue. And the only thing worse than a messed-up cat eye is being stranded without a fix. As a pro makeup artist, I always carry a bag around set for touch-ups, filled with everything I could possibly need to clean up any makeup emergency. Although my products may vary depending on the type of assignment/setting, my bag typically contains the usual suspects. A pro's makeup bag actually doesn't (and shouldn't) look any different from that of the everyday girl. Here are a few great products to stash in your makeup bag, along with a few tips and tricks to refresh your look in a minute.

1. Powder Compact

A powder compact is key to keeping your face fresh and flawless all day long. Try a lightweight mineral formula like L'Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Compact Makeup, which comes with a built-in brush! If you are in a pinch or need to freshen up, this is a quick and easy way to get a flawless finish, fast.

2. Concealer Stick

A portable concealer stick is another multi-use staple to keep handy as can be used for quick coverage, highlighting and even lining the eyes (bet you didn't see that one coming!). Try a pencil concealer like NYX Wonder Pencil - they come in a variety of shades and are small enough to fit in a small makeup bag.

3. Lip Liner

An on-point pout is nothing to play with. Sometimes you don't have the time or the space to throw all your lip products in your bag - balm, liner, lipstick, etc. - so, an evergreen quick-fix is huge. I recommend keeping a good lip liner on hand at all times. Not only will it keep your lipstick in place, but it can also help with emergency touch-ups and a lipstick substitute, if needed. Just line and fill-in those lips when you're low on time! Lip pencils are great, but constantly sharpening them can be a time suck. Try a roll-up liner like L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche Lip Liner, as it applies smoothly, and lasts forever without smearing.

4. Clear Lip Gloss

While we're on the topic of lips, let's chat about another staple that may surprise you: lip gloss. Now clear lip gloss may bring you back to your junior high school days, but let me tell you, this product is invaluable at any age. After lining and filling in your lips with your handy lip liner (as stated above) swipe on a little gloss for a fresh, shiny finish. The beauty of clear gloss is that it works with any and all lip colors. Product Recommendations: The Body Shop Cocoa Lip Gloss, NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Clear, Lancôme Gloss In Love in Just Strass

5. Blush + Bronzer Combo

For quick warmth and color, keep a little bronzer compact around - with built-in brush. Bronzer also serves as a good blush-substitute, for those times your cheeks could use a little something. Maybelline Fit-Me Bronzer is a slim compact, which can easily fit into your makeup bag, and since it has its own brush, there's no need to cross-pollinate with your powder!

6. Eye Liner

Eye liner is almost asimportant as lipstick and powder. Make sure you keep touch-ups to a minimum by using a long-wearing formula like L'Oréal Paris Infallible Never Fail Eyeliner, a dial-up style pencil, which eliminates the need to sharpen. This liner is long-lasting, so it shouldn't require much work or freshening up, but carry it just in case you want to bump up your look for evening. Product Recommendations: NYX Makeup Setting Spray, The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist, Kiehl's In-Flight Refreshing Mist

7. Lash Glue

Calling all you lash-loving gals out there! If you wear lashes, it's a good idea to carry a small tube of lash glue (like NYX Latex Free Eye Lash Glue), in case one of your lashes decides it wants to flutter away.

8. Micellar Water

If you haven't tried micellar water yet, you absolutely must! Take it from me, Lancôme Eau Fraîche Douceur is a miracle. Keep it by your sink to gently and effortlessly cleanse away makeup. And, for a fast fix, keep some in a small vial along with a few cotton swabs to neatly fix/remove any messy liner or smudging.

9. Misting Spray

If you can fit this in your bag, I suggest a travel-sized facial mist. This is a must-have item in my makeup kit in general. This mist can consist of everything from setting spray, an herb- or mineral-infused concoction to Evian mist. These mists are great for refreshing the skin or even set your makeup. I find that misting your face after makeup application or touch-ups, results in a more natural finish.

10. Blotting Papers

Last, but not least, I would suggest carrying around blotting papers. Blotting is the modern version of powdering your nose! Just press against the shiny areas on the face and follow-up with a quick powder to refresh your complexion.
