Los Angeles Minimoon Ideas

As one of the busiest cities in the United States, Los Angeles is a great destination for a weekend minimoon. Even though you could definitely spend an entire week here, for those of us too busy (or utterly broke from the wedding), a couple days in L.A. makes for an entertaining and vibrant weekend. You can usually find affordable flights, and with so many different neighborhoods, there's a hotel for every budget. The only thing you need to decide is what you want your itinerary to look like. We've designed 3 different minimoon schedules depending upon your interests!

Museums Galore

If you are a couple that loves to learn and fond of wandering around museums, Los Angeles has many to choose from. There are a few that you absolutely can't miss. First, The Getty not only offers you great art, but it's also one of the most amazing buildings in the city with an equally astounding view. Next, The Huntington offers an art museum, a world-class selection of historical documents, and lush gardens. In fact, the gardens are often used as filming locations for movies and television shows. Last, you can't go to L.A. without visiting the La Brea Tar Pits, where you can see fossils and watch archaeologists search out new discoveries.

Theme Park Fun

It's no secret that Los Angeles is the home of some legendary amusement parks. If you are a couple that appreciates the classics, there's no better destination than Disneyland. Spend the day enjoying fun rides, charming atmosphere, and indulging in tasty treats. California Adventure, the neighboring Disney park, offers old-fashioned roller coasters and newly re-vamped decor. If you two prefer seriously scary thrill rides, look no further than Six Flags, which is just north of the city.

Outdoor Enthusiasts

But Los Angeles isn't just about tourist fare and indoor attractions, it's also rich with natural beauty. If you want a minimoon filled with great weather and sunshine, there are plenty of places in L.A. to soak up the rays and breath in fresh air. Hike in the Santa Monica Mountains and you may even spot a celebrity or two. Couples wanting quieter beaches will prefer those around Malibu, otherwise you can't beat those in Orange County. You could even learn to surf!
