Pinterest of the Week: A Triple Braided Chignon

If you can't get enough of Pinterest and wish you had more time to find the best beauty looks on the photo-sharing site, this column is for you. Each week we highlight a coveted hairstyle, makeup technique or nail design with a popular following, and get the tips and tricks for creating it from the person behind the original pin. For this edition we checked in with the blogger responsible for this triple braided chignon.
Chicago-based hairstylist and Your Stylist AJ blogger, AJ Schulz, created this go-to look in a cab in two minutes on her way to a wedding. If that's not proof that it's easy to assemble, we're not sure what is. Here she shares her five easy steps for putting together this pretty chignon.
Step 1: If your hair is freshly washed, spritz your strands with a bit of dry shampoo to add a bit of texture and grip to it. This will help the style last, Schulz says. Try: Redken Powder Refresh 01.
Step 2: Split your hair into three even sections. Braid each section starting just above the nape of your neck. Secure each braid with a clear elastic.
Step 3: Loosely braid the three braids you just created and secure with another clear elastic.
Step 4: Roll the large braid inward toward your scalp, hiding the tail. Secure the roll with a few bobby pins.
Step 5: Loosen the roll of braids slightly and secure into a symmetrical shape with additional bobby pins.
