Coco's Top 5 City Wedding Venues

Written by: louise

I'm delighted to welcome Emma Hla, founder of Coco Wedding Venues to our pretty pages today. In a brand new monthly feature, Emma will be sharing her Top 5 Venues to suit every bridal style - from boho beats to city chic & beyond! Over to Emma!

Hello b.loved lovelies!

Are you ready for some wedding venue inspiration...?

Not so long ago I graced these pages with the story of Coco, today I'm returning as part of a mini-series for the gorgeous Louise and you, her bride-to-be-readers, with my top venue picks!

I'm a bit of a chameleon when it comes to the stunning array of wedding venues I get to work with... One day I'm a boho babe lusting after woodlands and camping, the next I want stately and classic. I know, I know... I'm just greedy.

But today I'm talking City.

The venues I've selected today are City centre venues, but all have something slightly different to offer... So whether you're an industrial loving fiend, a vintage doll or an uber romantic I might just have something to get you inspired about your impending venue hunt!

So... shall we...?

Venue #1 RSA

One of the Coco originals this had to be my number one... and it just so happens Louise featured a gorgeous real wedding at the RSA just yesterday!

The RSA is a beautiful Georgian House designed by Robert Adam in the early 1770's and provides a unique setting for your special day, offering Georgian grandeur, contemporary style and surprising spaces under one roof. A short walk from the River Thames, Covent Garden and Trafalgar Square, it is an unrivalled location in the heart of London.

The House is licensed to hold civil ceremonies, with a wide range of rooms available from intimate gatherings to ceremonies for up to 150 guests. I particularly love the candle lit Vaults, a pretty amazing space to hold your reception juxtaposed to the stunning rooms above for your ceremony.

I'm smitten.

Venue #2 The Dolls House

With a keen eye and attention to detail The Dead Dolls Club specializes in organizing stylish parties, weddings and large corporate events.

They are currently in residence in an old textile factory overlooking the historic Hoxton Square until early 2015.

Aptly named The Dolls House this unique venue is set over 3 floors with its very own roof terrace. Whilst its exterior may look like any other East London warehouse, inside you are transported to a different era. Each floor is hand illustrated to depict ornate rooms in a grand manor house from the downstairs parlour to the upstairs ballroom.

By day the rooms are flooded with daylight and by night and lit with candlelight the rooms are transformed to suit intimate dinners, parties and drink receptions.

I love this ethos of this pop-up venue - I'm also rather excited to announce they have a brand new site coming to Coco soon!

Venue #3 The Merchant Hotel

Coco newcomer, this Belfast beauty is for the truly romantic amongst you, oh and there's a whole heap of luxury waiting to be discovered...

The Merchant Hotel provides all the inspiration, care and attention you deserve for your special day. This iconic hotel in Belfast's historic Cathedral Quarter offers red carpet arrival, 6 weeks membership for their gymnasium prior to the wedding, luxurious accommodation for the couple, including access to the roof top hot tub and a renowned spa for a spot of pampering! Phew!

Elegant and indulgent all at the same time, I think The Merchant Hotel is pretty yummy.

Venue #4 The Milk Thistle & The Ox

I love this venue. A lot.

Independently run ' The Milk Thistle' is housed over four floors in one of the finest historic buildings in the city of Bristol. When your guests arrive at this cool-chic venue they are served delicious signature cocktails, bubbles and tempting canapés.

You can then make your way up to dinner or a buffet in the Lounge or Attic of 'The Milk Thistle', or for smaller guest lists, a sit down dinner for up to 80 at 'The Ox'.

Later you can move to 'The Milk Thistle's' Lounge that can house a band or DJ, you might even fancy the recommended gramophone DJ spinning some tracks in this cool, 'underground' venue.

Just... yes!

Venue #5 Roman Baths & Pump Room

Situated at the heart of the World Heritage Site, the Roman Baths and Pump Room is without doubt one of the most distinctive buildings in the country and a truly magical setting that will delight and fascinate your guests!

What could be more romantic and impressive than exchanging your vows amid the flickering torchlight and rising steam from the waters of the Great Bath?

Sunrise Weddings can be followed by a wedding breakfast in the Georgian Pump Room. Or in the evenings, after a Sunset Wedding, you can choose to have your reception in either the Pump Room or Terrace and Reception Hall.

Pretty epic... Don't you think...?

So there you have it, my Top 5 picks for today! If you're looking for some more wedding venue inspiration then hop across to Coco Wedding Venues - as a style focused wedding venue directory we're all about the pretty, unique and ultra cool.

Same time next month...? See you here!
