We love the way creative director and stylist Cynthia Martyn Events describes the inspiration of today's featured shoot: "low, luminous light, a rustic ambiance, moody hues of blue and grey, and gorgeous organic details." The result is a beautiful editorial with an intriguing etherial vibe. The inspiration was Scandinavian Winter-which they nailed- but we definitely think the relaxed elegance of the florals by Sweet Woodruff and stationery by Post & Plume would translate beautifully to an outdoor, organic spring celebration too. Nordic Beauty is a concept that we put together to explore the beauty of the Scandinavian Winter - low, luminous light, a rustic ambiance, moody hues of blue and grey, and gorgeous organic details all brought together in a wedding setting. We wanted to showcase a less contemporary Scandinavian style and focus on the beautiful earthiness of places like Iceland. The wood table and chairs, the tangled beauty of the loosely arranged florals, and details like the delicate blue ceramic charger plates all add a serene beauty to the setting. A gathering where you take comfort in the harvest and bounty of the land, even during the coldest days of Winter. Celebrating a great love, surrounded by your closest friends and family.

I wanted the imagery to be hauntingly mysterious to convey something ethereal, moody & intriguing for this shoot. Brides can easily incorporate some of the Old World charm and organic elements into their own wedding by adding some blue & grey shades, beautiful tapered grey candles in vintage brass holders and loose bouquets.
