Lovebirds | How did you two meet?

Technically, we met in 2002. Jaco and his family, as well as myself and my family, ended up relocating to the beautiful town of Somerset West around the same time. Jaco became very good friends with my two older brothers, so I met him through them.

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?

13 February 2016, while having lunch at the Waterfront, Jaco surprised me with tickets to the 'Passion Tour' which was taking place that night at Cape Town Stadium. We headed to the stadium and about 30 000 people filled the stands. Louie Giglio spoke for a little while and then worship started. About 3 songs in, Jaco leaned over and asked if he could chat to me quick. After saying some pretty intense things he reached for his pocket, got down on one knee and popped the question. In total shock I could barely get the word 'Yes!' out. The people around us cheered and congratulated us. It was a moment I'll never forget.

The Big Day | What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

One of the many moments would be standing at the top of the aisle with my dad and seeing Jaco waiting for me at the other end of the isle was quite an emotional moment for me.

A celebration of what God has done in our lives and the joy he has given us in himself.

Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides?

For the brides: Enjoy the season of being engaged and keep it simple!

For the couple: The best thing Jaco and I did was to lay a healthy foundation for our marriage by doing marriage prep sessions with a few couples at our church. Over our 6 month engagement period, we met with different couples in leadership who gave us incredible input and counsel on really important topics. You definitely would not regret it!
