Romance On The Mountains

Romance On The Mountains

You know when images are just beautiful? that. This scenic inspiration shoot was set in the French mountains, I mean seriously - could it get any more atmospheric than that?

There is a whiskey bar, urban-esque floral accents and some unique yet contemporary fashion choices, I would definitely like to see a bride pair some biker boots with her gown some day soon. Did I mention how gorgeous the couple, Blanche and Juliann are?! Super HOT.

If I was to describe this shoot in one word? FIT.

Enjoy folks.

The idea of an inspirational photoshoot has been growing in my head after a first collaboration with Greg, from Reego Photographie!

Our first shoot was such a great experience that we thought we had to do another one. The concept was be a little alternative because we wanted to create something we don't usually see in the French wedding industry. During the discussion with the team of the shoot, we all had the same feeling about what we wanted: a groom who is not like the others, a groom who stands out for his personality and with a strong grungy image....that was the first idea.!

So suddenly there was the idea in my mind - bang! let's go for a kilt. The kilt ensemble was from Chris Von Martial, we initially previewed the kilt with a black leather waistcoat but we reduced it down to the dark grey checked kilt with a used metal/rock T-shirt, a leather belt and leather boots to keep the essence of the alternative spirit... Out of the concert into the chapel!

As for the bride, we wanted a short white skirt and a top from Elsa Gary and this time, we put a black leather waistcoat to contrast the pure white of a wedding dress with a rock'n'roll spirit.

Then thanks to social networking, we found our perfect couple : Blanche and Juliann. Blanche has this natural kind of sad eyes and penetrating gaze, and she looks like a bit of Brigitte Bardot in her youth, the french rock icon back in the 60s. And she looks like an angel when she smiles. Juliann looks like he just left the set of a Braveheart movie, he was perfect for the kilt!!

For the venue, we wanted a rocky place, in the mountains. We went to this small village, named Meailles, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence (about 75 miles from Nice where we originally live) where I used to spent vacations in my childhood. Snow had fallen 2 days before the photoshoot on the mountain in front of us and it was just beautiful and breathtaking!

We wanted industrial decoration, we used pallets, cans, advertising cageots, bulbs, ropes and wire netting. We didn't want colorful flowers but aromatic herbs instead, to blend with the rocky scenery of the place. We also had the idea of a whiskey bar, instead of a more traditional candy bar.

We started then to think about other vendors we love to join us and everybody we contacted was thrilled about the project. Some of them had already worked with us in the previous shoot, like Marie the make-up artist whose talent enhanced the beauty of our model and Germaine from l'Accessoire for the pretty bracelet, but also new people : Besly designed the wedding invitations and the mini-burgers pikes with rock'n'love inspiration in mind, Jypai for the delightful and cute appetizers and Bernard Forever for the old-school ephemeral tattooing. We didn't have the chance to get a videographer during our previous photoshoot but this time, Cedric and Benjamin from Imagin- StillMotion followed us with their gears to film the photoshoot. And last but not least, the talented musicians duo, Becky and Belha, composed especially for us the music of the video!

During the shoot which was at the end of March, a very cold and strong wind blew all the time! We thought we were doomed because we couldn't set up the bar properly, because everything flew away. The second we put something on the table, it didn't stay in place. We had to wait the wind stopped a bit to rearrange the table and take some pictures and video before it blew away again. Because we were in altitude and the wind was cold, Blanche and Juliann were literally frozen in their outfits! We had to shoot for a few minutes, then put blankets on them to keep them warm. And do this over and over. Fortunately, they didn't get a cold!

Thanks to them, and all the team we gathered, the photoshoot went smoothly and we hope the result can inspire future brides!
