A surprise street party really got this wedding bash going and it looked like a total blast. Rachel and Jack married on the 11 ^th April 2015 at Islington Town Hall in London followed by a party at The Star Pub. They hired the New York Brass Band to entertain their guests who poured onto the street to dance away. It really made for a brilliant and memorable moment.

What else do I love about this gorgeous day? The style, the décor and the florals.

Rachel looked amazing in Justin Alexander, Jack was dapper in Vivienne Westwood and the bridesmaids wore the prettiest shade of blue. There was an epic naked cake, festoon lights aplenty and drink favours. YES.

THE PROPOSAL | On Brighton beach.

THE VISION | Our vision was pretty simple, we wanted our wedding to be fun from beginning to end, and to be filled with personal touches.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | We started planning a year before the wedding and shared a lot of the organising. We spent a lot of the year looking round vintage and charity shops collecting table decorations.

THE VENUE | Living in North London we loved the idea of having a London wedding. We felt this would make the day feel really personal, and we were really lucky to have a beautiful pub super close to our flat. We had our ceremony at Islington Town hall, and our reception was at The Star in Archway. Duncan, the landlord was the perfect host!

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | My dress was by Justin Alexander from Morgan Davies in Angel, Islington. I instantly fell in love with the high neck, and bold lace pattern. I wanted to keep my accessories quite minimal because my dress had quite a lot of lace detail in it, but on the day I wore Vivienne Westwood earrings, a wedding gift from Jack.

FINDING THE DRESS | I visited three wedding dress shops in London with my mum and Jack's mum. I tried on every shape and style, but found my dress in the first shop I went to.

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Jack wanted a Vivienne Westwood suit, and it didn't take him long to find one! His shirt, waistcoat and shoes were also Vivienne Westwood too. He's addicted!

THE READINGS | We had two readings, the first was a short poem called 'The One'. Our second reading was the first verse of the theme song 'Baywatch'. Our friend James learnt the first verse off by heart. We thought it would be fun to see the guest's reactions when they realised the reading was Baywatch.

MUSIC | One of the first things we did before even deciding on the date of our wedding was to find out the availability of The New York Brass Band who are a amazing brass cover band. They played at my work Christmas party one year, and I knew they would be perfect for our wedding, especially as it's impossible not to dance as soon as they start playing! We really wanted music to play a big role on the day and we wanted the party to start early, so the brass band began their set straight after the speeches. We didn't tell any of the guests, even family that they were playing so it was quite a surprise when they appeared from down the street! The band got the guests to leave their seats and go outside to dance in the street.

We also had another band called Bounce in the evening. They played a lot of dance covers, and were perfect for keeping the party going into the night.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | My bridesmaids were 2 of my oldest friends, Emily and Zoe and Jack's sister Millie. Their dresses were from Coast and their shoes were from Next. They looked amazing!

THE FLOWERS | I was most excited about planning the flowers. As our wedding was in Spring, I really wanted the pub to be filled with all kinds of different spring flowers, and not be too restricted by a colour scheme. My friend at work, Jade is an amazing florist in her spare time and she was totally up for doing the flowers. We ordered the flowers from a wholesaler so they were cost price, which meant we could get more for our money. Jade made all the beautiful arrangements to go in the pub the day before. The thing I love most about the flowers is that every arrangement was so unique and different!

My bouquet was perfect too, I just love how bright and colourful it was. Again this was down to Jade.

THE CAKE | We just wanted a simple rustic cake, so we went for a Victoria sponge covered in fresh fruit and sugar flowers. We asked Katy from KatyMadeCakes, in Crouch End to make it. It was perfect!

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Our photographer David, from Modern Vintage Weddings was amazing. When we first saw his photos on his website we were blown away by how beautiful they were, especially his compositions and the way he can capture a moment so perfectly. From chatting on the phone to first meeting David he felt like a friend, and we loved how excited David was about our ideas for the wedding. David visited the pub and we had a practice photo-shoot about a month before the wedding. This was loads of fun, and I totally recommend it to other couples, as on the day there was no awkwardness, or cheesy smiles. We couldn't be happier with the photos.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Decorating the pub was something we were so excited about. The great thing about having our reception in the pub meant that it was pretty much a blank canvas, and we could put our own stamp on it. We loved the rustic, miss match interior of the pub and we didn't want to cover it up with too many decorations. We spent the year collecting vases, jars, pots and all sorts of second hand things that the flowers could go in. We borrowed beautiful vintage lace tablecloths from a friend and laid them diagonally so some of the wood from the tables still showed.

Being in a pub it seemed only right to name the tables after drinks. This also became our favours. On each table we filled large kilner jars with the drink the table was named after. Then each guest had a small jar so that they could help themselves.

The evening reception was in an upstairs room of the pub. To decorate it, we hired large 'R&J' lights, and covered the ceiling in festoon lights.

THE HONEYMOON | We spent three weeks in America. We spent a few days in New York before flying to San Francisco. We stayed there a few nights before going on a road trip along the Californian coast. We ended our honeymoon in Las Vegas!

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | The brass band surprising guests was such a big highlight, and one we'll never forget. It was so much fun dancing in the street, even passers by joined in for a dance too.

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Try to be as decisive as possible. Don't be afraid to go with your gut, and do something that feels really personal to you.
